Riivolution or Gecko OS

I've been reading around, and I wanted to know what is different between Gecko OS + Riivoluion (Gecko OS Version). So, other than Gecko OS being able to support codes, what else is different?

Riivolution allows SFX hacking (character/announcer voices, sound effects) and THP hacking (custom videos, like replacing the opening Brawl one).
I haven't used Riivolution and I'm sure there's more than just that however. Gecko OS is probably more popular, but there are easy setups that allow you to switch to Riivolution without changing (hardly) any filepaths. I think Riivolution may have issues with a few things though. But as far as I know, that's it.

Also, I believe Riivo is a bit more lenient when it comes to file sizes. I don't know the exact details on that, but it's definitely a pro over Gecko. But like mario said, Riivolution allows custom SFX and THP hacks. That's the gist of it.

Riivolution runs much smoother then Gecko  because Gecko can't handle alot of things running at once, like say I turn on textures, music, and stage textures all at once. In effect, gecko will slow down the music and make it a crappy quality. Riivolution on the other hand can handle many operations at once and can handle all of your hacks.

That comes as a tradeoff for the longer loading times on Riivo.
