Hello everybody, I've been attempting to get stage portraits for my textures into my stage select screen, but it just doesn't seem to be working and I can't for the life of me figure out why.

I am trying to replace the stage portrait for Battlefield with this image:

I have been following //2's guide and have followed all of his instructions. I indexed colours (256 colour... though I also tried 64 colour) before saving, I saved as a PNG, my dimensions are correct, and I have been attempting to replace MenSelmapPrevbase.01.png in Brawlbox: CMPR format, data size 15,552 B. My wii crashes every time I attempt to load the SSS.

This is the only custom image I currently have in common5.pac. I do not currently use a custom SSS and do not have a sc_selmap.pac. I was previously able to get a stage icon working (but have since wiped the common5.pac), but not stage portraits.

I've been having trouble finding tips to make this work and stop crashing my wii. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

That guide is dated. You also have to put the portait in it's place in common5.pac as well.

I have only been using common5.pac, and have only been replacing the Battlefield portrait with the new one. Is there something else I need to do as well, or another file I need to edit?

alternatively, is there a newer guide? Smiley

edit: I downloaded a custom sc_selmap.pac and that seems to have fixed it, but using the default sc_selmap.pac does not .... hmm... maybe I will investigate this later. Thanks! Smiley
