Holy [censored] my thoughts. I was gonna say, on the outline he looks somewhat chunky, that the belt is pushing the fat on his love handles, see what I mean guy?
Looks great though. Love the overlapping gloves, buttons, detail in general.
I always imagined his character to be slimmer then Lucas, I do not know exactly why though. I guess its the whole commander thing But yea, slimming him down in the legs and stomach would probably be for the best.

Lucas looks "fat" because of his baggy shirt. So how's this? I think the reasons BY's head looks "egg-shaped" is because he made the body too thin- I think animated, this would look fine. Still though, you guys were right. I thinned out his pants by a bit. By the way, who should he go over? Lucas? That'd be the obvious choice, but his manerisms are a bit too whimpy. Maybe Ness? He has the same bone structure as Lucas, but is more confident. Still, he might be too cheerful for the Masked Man. Then there's Marth, his moveset+mannerisms would be best. But even with a size mod, his proportions'll be weird. hmmmmm well gee....

Marth? I hope you're joking.
I say Ness. Lucas powers do fit more and all that, but he is a [censored] after all.
Ness is more manly, if you will. He might be more playful, but still more serious than Lucas.
You can put him on Bowser if you want. Your choice at the end of the day.

Well, we'll see, BY.... it might just take SIXTEEN YEARS.......
Speaking of which, how many polys can brawl take? When am I going overboard? What about texture resolution? Can I have all 512 files??
will i crash the game???

I find it's usually best to shoot for 1024x1024 textures for best quality, but if it ends up not working, cut one in half, and keep cutting the size in half until it works. I dunno about polys though.

Agreed. It looks like most Brawl textures were painted at 1024x1024, and then sized down.
However, I've decided to mainly use a 256 size, and occasionally use 512 for the body file.

Pik, I would suggest you see how many polys the character you're replacing has, and make Masked Man have less than that. As for textures, if you do this, you might be able to go for 1024 on a few textures.

Well, take as much time you need...
As for polycounts, you can go up to around 15000 before experiencing any noticeable lag. I'd personally keep it under 12000 if you can.
Textures are more of a matter of the characters file size limit, though I'd doubt you could go all 512 though.

Ness and Lucas both have I believe two or three main textures. The rest are face expressions and stupid [censored] like that. Those don't need to be 512x512.
256x256 should be more than enough for that.

Oh, and the masked man won't need expressions, since he's like... dead... It looks cooler that way, too. But here's a side view. How's the shape looking? Is he balanced, etc? If so, I'm ready to use this as model concept art. (by the way, the buttons were inspired by Loppi's MM painting)

Looks legit man.
No complaints about the shape. You decide who you plan to make him over?

The shape looks fine as is. Go for it. I can't wait for a custom Masked Man.
