HNGNGFHGHGNHNGHNHNGG Yeah, agreed completely... That is exactly the reason I only use wi-fi safe mods, as a competitive Brawl player.
Wi-fi unsafe mods always = sad face i for one dont care for wifi safeness dont see how that helps competitiveness>.>

I didn't know people cared for the online it seems like the increase in caring for online happened during the announcment that online will be turned off/the new servers being modded

I didn't know people cared for the online When you say that, it seems like you didn't take the time to read what we have been saying
It's NOT about the online at all, I don't even play online, but as to how every moveset (original or P:M's) DEPEND ON THE BONES POSITION to create the hitboxes and hurtboxes. If you are a competitive player, it's no use practicing combos on characters whose hitboxes and hurtboxes are misplaced in comparison to what they should be.
Wi-fi unsafe hacks are called that way because they de-sync in Wi-fi, but they de-sync because the hitboxes and hurtboxes are moved along the bones, and the bone changes happen REGARDLESS OF IT BEING ONLINE OR OFFLINE. Meaning, wi-fi unsafe hacks also mean UNACCURATE BEHAVIOR OFFLINE.
Just read this:Okay, then alter your BV entries. If you KNOW they're Wifi unsafe, then mark them as such. Because some people don't like Wifi unsafe mods, even if they don't play on Wifi. Such as P:M players. They might not want hit boxes that don't match the original bone set. It messes with what should, and shouldn't work combo wise.

To elaborate a bit more on why hit box changes are bad for P:M... or heck, even normal Brawl to competitive players....
Lets say you're playing P:M, with a Marth mod, but this mod makes him much smaller.... You try to use a normal combo, just out space the foe, you have to get closer to the foe then normal to land it, unlike the original. Or, the combo might wiff at a point it normally shouldn't.
The opposite can also be true. A bigger Marth mod could do combos he normally shouldn't, plus would be at an advantage in a Marth ditto match, since one player has more range then the other.... However, the hurt box is also bigger, thus you might get comboed longer then normal as well.
And no, this doesn't just effect P:M, it effects vBrawl as well, I just used P:M as an example, since there's more combos in it.
So yeah, people caring about Wifi safeness isn't why they don't like bone edits. It's because it completely messes with the character's moves, and even how they can be hit.

hey calm down; well I doubt the hitboxes are so affected since my hacks indeed has modified bones, but the bone index number is not affected for RHaveN and LHaveN since affecting those bones would cause terrible grab glitches I also see what data says, but well, I dont have much to say about it; I play brawl for fun not for combos and stuff

And I understand your reasons for making bone modifications, it just bothers me to no end to be unable to use so many great hacks that you and other people do.

if you guys are so intent on combos, competitive play and mods being wifi safe then why download mods at all? unless its just textures...most people who download character mods would want said character to be represented as well as possible and if they require bone edits then they require bone edits.

Could we stop the wi-fi safe discussion. I don't mean to sound like Nano, but I expected previews (or comments on them) when I entered the thread. The discussion is indeed interesting, but why not start a thread for it or something. nano complains about this often, now I understand him.

Can't we want fancy looking skins in our Brawl?
A short sworded Sephiroth may sound dumb, but it's still better than just having Marth.

I've got a better question. Why does this even [censored]ing matter?
Nobody bothers marking whether something is Wi-Fi Unsafe or not anyway. On top of that, at this point people should be able to cope with the fact that bone edits change hit and hurtboxes, and makes some combos unworkable.
-if you want to do competitive, you shouldn't use mods. You're being just downright bratty if you seriously think people should make things how you need them. They didn't necessarily make the mods for you, you know.
Furthermore. I'm getting a bit [censored]ing tired of coming her to this topic hoping for a preview only to see this [censored]ty argument. Get back on topic.

Man, it'd be real nice if people would not play mini-mods.
All there is to say on the matter is that hackers should take the time to mark wifi unsafe mods, out of politeness for people who do need to play online or practice competitively.
And for these users, I'm afraid it's not up to you to tell modders to do specific kinds of hacks. You can ask wifi safe versions when they release them, and you are perfectly entitled to enjoy nice skins. But don't get your hopes up and keep in mind this community has never cared much about the competitive aspect of Brawl. We just kinda [censored] around with stuff, see what happens.
Now back on topic, por favor.

I do mark everything I do with wi-fi safe or unsafe, if I can tell if it is, of course. If I don't mark them, sometimes I just forgot to. And I do so, because I know that some people care and sometimes look for wi-fi safe hacks.
People are (at least supposed to) make hacks for everyone to enjoy. If you're already going to rig a character, why not make it wi-fi safe? And then, edit it for a more accurate, wi-fi unsafe version? That was how people did back in the vertex time, making a wi-fi safe and a wi-fi unsafe version included.Man, it'd be real nice if people would not play mini-mods.
All there is to say on the matter is that hackers should take the time to mark wifi safe* mods, out of politeness for people who do need to play online or practice competitively.

Now back on topic, por favor. Well, I usually don't bother asking the maker for a wi-fi safe version. I just skip the hack and feel let down for keeping my hopes up for a hack I can't have.
In the end, you are right, I'll just go back to hoping that more hackers stop excluding the competitive players.
Let's move on from this topic, then. I guess everything that needed to be said was said.
