For some reason, Gecko just absolutely refuses to load my info.pac. I've downloaded a handful brstms over the past couple of weeks, but I decided I wanted to change some of the in-game song titles to match them. So after about an hour or so of editing the music titles in both the info.pac and mu_menumain, I inserted them into their corresponding folders in my SD card, loaded Gecko, launched the game, got past the strap loader, but was greeted with a friendly, infinite black screen after "Now Loading".
I've probably been looking for solutions to this issue for over a week now, yet every guide online says that you merely need to decrease the file size by cutting down menu titles, etc. because the game will freeze if the info.pac is larger than 390kb. Well, I did just that, and reduced the file size down to 389kb, but still no luck. Every other forum post I've checked throughout here, SWF, and AllisBrawl seem to tell people the same thing if that doesn't work, "try formatting your SD card". Tried it, again it failed.
I've tested out removing everything except the info.pac from the rsbe folder, and it still freezes. So I started experimenting with random [censored], eventually trying Project M's cheat file in the codes folder, in place of the file patch. Amazingly, it actually worked, and the song titles loaded without fail; but I can't use any of my other customizations with it, since it's set up for use with their mod.
I even tested out putting in the clean, unedited info.pac straight from the data partition, and THAT froze, too.
So does anyone have an idea about how I can fix the freezing? Is there another code I need to use in place of the file patch? Any help appreciated. (Sorry for the long post, I wanted it to be as descriptive as possible.)
