Vinyourg's 2D Portraits [Updated January 11/2010- Captain Falcon] SHOW ME YOUR-

[Vinyourg]

READ FIRST:

All of these portraits are pure, png. files, and are not indexed. I am working on indexing the portraits while keeping their quality, but it will take some time. I apologize for this mess.

I have also started this thread over at the Smash Workshop, under the Customised Content sub-forum. I'll try to keep both threads up to date.

Not a very original idea, eh? Who cares? (Except for the person who might have made these already  :'()

Over the next few years or so, (yep, FEW YEARS), I'm going to take 2D pictures of every character in the game and remake them into portraits. So far, not much progress has been made, but I need to start somewhere.

Some of these characters are tremendously difficult to find. For example, the Star Fox team was notoriously difficult for me to find until I found out that there was a comic book made with them, and I'm still missing Wolf O'Donnell. And I doubt anyone will find R.O.B, Pit, Snake (a clear picture of Snake, not the sketchy-ish versions), or even Donkey/Diddy Kong. If you want to help, try to locate some high quality 2D pictures of Brawl characters.

If you want to help, but can't use Google Image Search well, here are a couple of ideas of where to look for 2D pictures:

Box Art
Concept Art (Unlockable Features in-game?)
Manga
Comics
SSBB Stickers!
2D renders from 3D models
Fan Art (last resort only)

All of these files are png pictures, so you'll have to insert them into the common5.pac manually, with BrawlBox. If the picture looks terrible when you preview it in BrawlBox, click the "Recommend" button.

Please note any canonical mistakes or difficulties in inserting images.

Captain Falcon (The first Falcon is the true original, the second is my edit to the original)

Fox (Wish I had found a better uniform, this is his 64 appearance, not Assault)

Ike (bandana's unchanged, will fix later)

This is a good idea, keep going.

[Vinyourg]

Updated yet again, don't expect any more for this week.

[Beyond]

Good Stuff Here. This is something that I've always wanted. I wish I could repay you somehow...

[Segtendo]

Awesome. Just awesome. Few suggestions. I'm gonna post some pics of renders you could use for others.
Bowser
Mario

[Vinyourg]

I already have that Bowser (too bad he's missing the arm bracelets, or whatever the heck he wears on his arms), but that Mario is a godsend. I've been trying to find a good one and I simply couldn't.

EDIT: I take that back, I see the arm bracelets now.   :>.>palm:

[Segtendo]

Thanks about the Mario :)
I found it on Mushroom Kingdom and rendered it. It's got some nice quality.

[McSnapple]

[Vinyourg]

Updated! Fox McCloud is on the list, albeit with a non-Brawl appearance (this was the best I could find, even though this is his 64 appearance, not Assault)

On another note, I'd like to thank the two people so far who have helped me find pictures. This is a list of pictures I've now got:

Mario
Bowser
Wario (Biker/Original)
Peach
Kirby

All of the others I didn't mention are a) not to my satisfaction, b) I already have it, or c) way too bad@$$. (I'm looking at Game and Watch)

I guess since GW is already in 2D, i'll leave him alone. Poor guy.

[Segtendo]

^^That G&W is O_O
Luigi
Sonic
Falcon
Marth
Either this DK or this one
Diddy

UPDATED BWAHAHAHA.

Yeah, yeah, I skipped Falco Lombardi. Turns out he's a pain in the @** to colour. I can't figure out what to do with that grey silver thing by his leg. It's not his knee, just in case you think so. The picture's not even up, so you can't see it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! A long time ago, that is.

[Vinyourg]

YES MY FIRST DOUBLE POST!

Don't hate on me. This thread is updated again, with the Captain himself in the game. I wasn't quite sure what to do with his...nipple caps, so I coloured them the same as the uniform they were on. Hopefully it doesn't blind you.

Samus is comin'. Does anyone actually play as Samus? I'm terrible with her, I can't use her air capabilities very well. I just spam missles and lose.

lol i think the next people you should post portraits for are mario and luigi
