how to change the battle portrait's in game name?

Try modifying the file, if_adv_mngr_en.pac.  That may be the file that controls the names that appear during a match.  It does need to be compressed though.  Also, remove the _en part before using the file.

The name textures should be inside the BRRES archive, MiscData[0], when you view the file.
