Well, I was using that code with Gecko, but when I change to Riivo I read in a tutorial about that code that it doesn't work with Riivolution... I tested it with the correct buttons and it doesn't work... at least for me.
Hmm, alright.  Unfortunately my Wii doesn't read discs so I can test this for myself.  I'll make a new thread dedicated to this question and see what others have to say.  Thank you for your input.

Looks like the alternate file loader code won't work with Riivolution due to the code using the file replacement code to function.  This is a pretty significant con for Riivolution, in my opinion :/

Just a note: Rivvolution can support unlimited filesize in files (theoretical 16gb max) - however, the Wii has limited space in RAM, so only so much can be loaded at once! How much exactly depends on what is going on.

If the alternate file loader code is simply allowing to hotswap during play, then you can accomplish that through riifs, by simply renaming the replacement folder before you load. Slightly less convenient than pressing some hardcoded button combination, but thems the breaks.

Gecko can't read Fighter.pac, but it can read Common3.pac which has the Fighter.pac in it...right?
Btw, Gecko does support all games.

Why would you use gecko? If you can't use riivolution use Neogamma which is WAY better than gecko.

Yeah, but the file patch code created by PW only supports Brawl.

Would it be possible to hardware mod the Wii to add more RAM?
    I'd like to try XD
