PSA Assist Trophy problem

Anytime I try to edit more than, say, 4 moves at a time and save, whether in Brawlbox v. 67 update 1 or the latest Smash Attacks, my moveset works fine except for one extremely annoying problem: the character won't break/use Assist Trophies when they hold them and moves no longer have canceling/interruption, which is strange. Instead of the character breaking open and releasing the character they just stand there. I've run into this multiple times and each time I've never figured out what caused it or how to fix it. I tried redownloading Smash Attacks and saved again, but it didn't help. The moveset I'm replacing is Lucario.
