Let me explain it: Sometimes a certain song in certain level will play like normal but halfway it does a small static like noise and it switches to an unrelated song (brstm or not) and it either sounds muffled, at a different speed and pitch, or it straight out plays nothing but static until it goes back to the actual song only to repeat the same process. I've already tried using different brstms but I get different results and since it doesn't just happen with just one file, it's hard to keep track of what the problem is. Here's the info on my setup so you might see what I can't in plain sight:
My strm folder is at 812mb
I'm using a 2gb sd card and 1.63 gb of it has been used.
I'm using the classic stage expansion for project m 3.02 (full set, hackless launcher)
I notice that this  tends to happen the longer I have a set of hacks without restarting from scratch which I do every once in a while, so maybe my memory is too full and it's causing problems? If that's true I just want confirmation since I've googled everywhere for an answer to this problem and I just want to be pointed in the right direction.

I had the same problem and solved it with getting a new SD card. You can also try to format your SD card but don't forget to save all your content on your PC before doing so.

Same thing happens with me sometimes.

I fixed it all the times by deleting the song that is giving problems, redownloading it, and then putting it back at the SD card. Everytime I did so it stopped glitching. I think that this happens because my song's filesize are over 8Mb.

Yes, I also noticed that on songs that are over 8mb. They just make a weird noise and turn into a messed up brstm that has nothing to do with the stage at all.
However, I'm still using these large brstms and they work perfectly now. I don't know if it's because I switched to the SDHC extension or not.

Thanks man! No more sound oddities...yet. Anyway, out of curiousity, does the size of the strm folder matter into this though? I deleted ALOT of songs trying to remedy this and I'm starting to think it was for nothing lol.

That shouldn't be a problem as long as there's enough space on your SD card. Especially the SDHC extension is useful for using tons of customs songs for Brawl.

Format your SD Card, and/or make sure you FIRST DELETE the brstm you want to replace, THEN PASTE the one you wanna add...

Thanks. Come to think of it I often replaced songs instead of delete then add. Well, I guess I'll reassemble my song collection; sigh.
