Well I figured I'd make another post for this. I think this is like the sixth time. Anyways I've made a BrawlEx mod pack called "Sonic & Pokemon MX", and ever since it's inception there have been bugs. I've practically fixed every bug that surfaced, some even solved themselves when I shifted to Dolphin. But there's always been this nasty bug that seems to happen very randomly and for no reason I can pinpoint. The bug causes the game to crash during the character entrys at random. I've tried replicating almost every scenario only to come out empty handed. If anyone can offer insight into this, the help would be greatly appreciated.

I can only think of that it could be the FitEntry.pac's, but I dunno.

I don't think it's the entries, I've also been plagued with this problem. It may just be a BrawlEx thing, but... I don't know.

I suspect that it is a BrawlEx issue, but I'm still not sure. However, I do know it's NOT the entry.pac files. I had an issue porting a Peach clone to Peach's slot but it didn't work. But once I moved it to a BrawlEx slot and set it to ignore Peach's entry00-05.pac files the clone worked flawlessly.

Are you running with Gecko? And if not, what are the filesizes of each .pcs for the fighters? And also, are you using any stages? If so, what are the filesizes of those?

Yes, I'm running Gecko. The largest .pcs file I found was 921KB on a ROB clone. Aside from that most of the .pcs files are under 700KB. The largest stage file is 4577KB, and most stages are under 3000KB. Though this nasty bug seems to be able to happen with any character or stage.

Yeah, I thought it was probably Gecko. A long time ago, when I first started modding Brawl, I used Gecko, and it would randomly freeze on me, even with the default Brawl fighters on a default map, etc. I dunno if it was the version of Gecko or something, but it did that. Try Riivo or the P:M launcher, if you can.

Riivolution... That causes several issues of it's own, even with a proper .XML file. Bowser can't be used, and most BrawlEx characters freeze. Especially Cloud, Sir Percival, and Mewtwo. They make Dolphin freak out. <.<

The PM launcher made no difference either way.

Has anyone found a solution yet, or am I just beating a dead horse at this point?

Found out some more information. When Gotenks appears, his entry (Goten and Trunks fusing) plays perfectly fine, but the moment Gotenks tries to become visible the random freeze may occur.

Hmm... I should test and see if this happens with the other large BrawlEx packs. (Super Smash Sister., Heroes and Villians, SSB Legacy, SSB: Khaos, etc.)
