Thanks for the link, but that one requires a registration in order to use ACID Pro 7.0
run the trial (full function) my guide also states alternate means of using the program, but doesn't say how

you can still follow the guide using audacity, except you will be skipping ALL but the EQ effect steps and doing certain actions are different in audacity

when it runs out you can "keygen" it, but because of rules here, i will not go over how to unlock it without the valid code

The trial version asks for information I don't want to give them.  I could always lie about it, knowing I am not going to be called out on, but with the IP wars waging these day in Congress...you know I could always just lie about it.

alright then, PM me and i will teach you the way to NOT give out info (register from another computer method, using keygen to stop the internet connection)

Yeah, don't come into my guide and advertise your own stuff. Ever again.

"In GoldWave, press Ctrl+A to make sure you have the whole song selected. Now press Ctrl+Shift+L to select only the left channel. Click File > Save Selection As. Navigate to the root of the music tool. Change the file type to Wave and the attributes to PCM signed 16-bit mono. If you’re using the brstm I provided, you’ll see two files: w23L.wav and w23R.wav. Save the current selection as w23L. Press Ctrl+Shift+R to select the right channel, then click File > Save Selection As and save over w23R."

This part does not happen in the converter.  Or I might not quite understand what this means.

    What part? The bolded part?

If you're using this version of the tool, it includes a brstm in OriginalSongs called w23.brstm. When you run the tool, you choose mono or stereo, then it asks you for a base file. You enter w23 there. The tool then creates two wav files, called w23L and w23R, in the root of the tool's folder (where Start. bat is). When you're saving the channels, if you change the file type to wav and navigate to that folder, you'll see those two wavs.

So, this is not like Mario Kart Wii that you have to patch the BRSAR file to make the songs loop correctly? Do songs in Brawl can have any sizes without need of expanding anything??

    i believe so...

MKW, Mario sluggers, Super Paper mario,  require BRSAR patching, brawl doesn't

Okay, so I've already uploaded two songs to the Brawl Vault, and I've created several others for my own personal version, so obviously this has worked for me before...however, now when I try to create new songs, outside of one song which DID work (a mono Venture Brothers song) I am having problems converting the song to brstm using GoldWave.

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, so let me try and explain what I am experiencing:

First off, whenever I try and save the the left and right parts of the song (you know the ctrl + shift L or R part) after I am done overriding the L part of the file over W23L, it goes an highlights both sections.  This use to never happen.  Next when I am done making the file and try and test it in BrawlBox it says something about messing with volume external something, I don't remember the exact details, either way, it is just not working.  Can anyone give me any insight into my problem, or are more details required?

    Hey, Vyse!

Thanks for an awesome tutorial.  But, cuz me being a newbie and all at this modding business, I have stumbled upon something that makes me wanna pull my hair out.

    So, here's the deal:

I successfully added/replaced a new song to a stage and changed the name of the song, BUT only in the menu with the sliders that controls how often the song pops up whenever you play in that stage.  When I go and select the stage, the new song is playing, but the text on the top left corner still retains the title of the original song.  How do I change it to the title of the new song?

I'm currently running Project M on Riivolution.
    The mod version is 2.5.1

not familiar with title moddign in project M's  mod, but mu_menumain_en and info.pac's contain message data, inside this are the song titles and some menu descriptions
