Offer payment for PSA/texture/vertex/etc?

Sorry i'm posting this here, there wasn't really anywhere else i thought it would fit.

Since i love brawl hacks, but no time to dedicate to learning PSA/others (it's been 9 months since the last time i even loaded it, and now i don't even have a suitable computer for this), i wanna make a request. I also want quality and for it to be done in a timely manner and it's sort of large project, so i want to offer payment.

But this seems like the kinda thing that nintendo would frown upon. The point where someone is making money off their stuff is the point it becomes serious. So basically, i just wanted to know if i'd be allowed to actually specifically say "i will give you money" on your forum. Or if i'm allowed to say "i'll compensate you for your time somehow, message me to discuss". 'Cause i don't wanna get you guys in trouble.


As an aside, should i include info about the texture/vertex hack i want done with my psa request?. I don't wanna start 3 threads, and i wasn't really planning on paying for texture/vertex hacks on account of how easy they would be. They're just sort of parts of one thing.

Offering any kind of payment for someone to mod something that isn't theirs is kind of illegal.....and people here do the hacks as a hobby. This isn't something for commissions.

Get payed for textures? Some people here could work for Nintendo for Pete's sake

I know people do it as a hobby and these sites are still up and running, but i wasn't sure if there would be a line drawn there. I actually thought all of this was illegal, but i heard recently that modding a game you own is legal. Well, i guess that person could be full of crap. But that was actually the first time i've ever heard any mention of legality.

When we distribute the files, it could technically be considered illegal because we are distributing copyrighted material. Nintendo, however, seems to not care, mainly because they care more about pirating and no one can create the entirety of Brawl from the files we distribute (they'd still be missing a great deal of files that people haven't edited/have no point in editing). Selling these files, however, is very illegal and I'm sure Nintendo would hop right on it and file a lawsuit as soon as they heard about such a thing, and they'd probably shut down the entire Brawl Hacking community because of it.

And modding games is legal as far as we're concerned, but Nintendo could find some way to make it "illegal" if they felt modding games was a big enough problem.

no it's illegal to pay for things.

But if u want ur request done u can make them something to make them do it.
