1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Falco Arwing FS on: March 27, 2015, 05:26:42 PM
I've downloaded the files, looked at them, but have yet to test it. I assume this is a modified version of his vanilla Brawl move set. Forgive my ignorance and lack of knowledge about Brawl hacking, but is it possible to port this to his Brawl Plus, Brawl Minus, and Project M move sets? I'm sure having this in all three versions would be useful, if not a popular concept. Possibly even in Balanced Brawl, if you have the time.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: I need to ask a simple question so I can figure out my priorities. on: October 10, 2014, 08:49:39 PM
The only on there that isn't possible is using Riivolution. There's a Riivolution xml for BrawlEx, but it's pointless.

The difficult part of the rest of it is, if I understand correctly, the custom CSS.

I think that's the part that's screwing me up the most; dealing with things that I'm unfamiliar with, namely coding for BrawlEX (as simple as it is, I was never good with understanding and dealing with hex  not impressed) and also dealing with all the new programs that the Vault has to offer. (Like those new ones for the BrawlEX and brstms from Mewtwo2000 and Diddy Kong) That, and to reiterate, there's the issue of "what comes first?" Do I install Project M's CSS then mod it with ASFLink's Dark Blue CSS? Or do I use that blank template I've seen in the Vault that tells people how to mod their own CSS so they can use BrawlEX? And to make sure that it looks decent without contrasting colors, the question "how do I mod the stage selection menu so that it keeps Project M's lineup?" arises. Then there's.....urrgghhh.....

It's a lot at once for an old fogey like me who was only used to dealing with the fighter folder and maybe sometimes modding things in commen5 and sel_character.pac. That, and I also have to figure out how Project M's setup can be translated into the old setup we had back when Brawl hacking was in it's infantcy. Maybe I should just start fresh with a blank vBrawl template and experiment from there, then start working on other templates once I get my feet wet. Oh, and I have to also figure out how to install Dolphin properly for beta testing, something I never bothered with back in the day. And I have to get most, if not all of this done in about 4 days. Otherwise I'll have to deal with losing trust from a friend based on a deal I made with him. So that's fun, I guess.

......I.....I need a cup of coffee now. Strong and black. No cream, no sugar. Excuse me a moment.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / I need to ask a simple question so I can figure out my priorities. on: October 09, 2014, 05:49:36 PM
Okay, so....Is there currently any way to have "all of it"? You know what I mean; custom character selection and stage selection menus, CBliss for more costumes, BrawlEX for adding custom characters without replacing old ones, Stage Expansion for more stages, custom music via brstms, Riivolution to have different variations on one 32 gig SD card, including Project M physics for one variation, then an overpowered Project M variation, then the same with Brawl Minus, Brawl Plus, Balenced Brawl, vBrawl, etc, etc. All of it....on one SD card. One ultimate version, all ready for anyone to customize to their liking.

*takes a moment to breath, and to stop head from throbbing*

....As you can probably tell, I'm currently trying to hack Brawl again after 4+ years of forgetting how....and I'd like to know where to start if I wanted to do this sort of thing. Then I'd like to know where to go from there. I've seen all the resources....I'm just having trouble getting it all sorted out in my head. As in "what do I install first?" type of deal. You know, without accidently overwriting stuff I want to keep in each installation. I can probably figure out how to do each one....I just need a hierarchy here to get my head sorted out. My apologies if I've missed a tutorial or source video I didn't know about before this post. I'm sure this'll be a simple "go to this video here" type of deal.....

Alright maybe P:M it to him. Thanks dude

No worries. This is why I tracked this topic in the first place. I downloaded it immediately.

And now to somehow regain the ability to mod Brawl again. Because my Wii recently decided to stop reading retail Nintendo discs. Even though it seems to read burned Gamecube games just fine.

I found it somewhere.... look it up on google, it should be at a SmashBoards thread

Yeah, it's this one right?

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=238861&page=157
http://www.mediafire.com/?tgrti4cy2jw

I remember visiting it a long time ago and testing the stage out. I got a non-smiling Captain Falcon, iirc. I'll try it again.

Also, there was a Youtube video that had the download link, but it was a MegaUpload link....and we all know how useful THOSE are today.   not impressed

That being said while I work my magic, if anyone actually HAS the pac file please post a link to it if you have the time. I'll still try out what I re-found in the Smashboards thread, though....

Tested the FitFinal.pac in the mediafire link. Turned out to be non-smiling, like I had thought. Now looking through the mediafire folders it was in to see if I missed something. Which I doubt I did.

Didn't miss anything. Both FITFINAL.pac files in the mediafire link were non-smiling. Again, if anyone has what I'm looking for, I'd appreciate it if they'd share. My thanks in advance if you do.

Well, including Smiling Falcon Destination would always be a plus.

I've been searching for years for that stage file and I've STILL not found it....

Thank you for your interest. Smiley

I'd make a video showcasing the moves, but when I tried, I messed up so many times that I rage quit. >.>

Speaking of which, however crappy mine were, I've re-uploaded them to this topic if you haven't noticed al--wow, that's an insensitive way of putting it.  Im srs here

Well, for lack of me phrasing what I want to say in a more polite context, (can't seem to spit out what I want to say without being rude) they're posted a page or two back in this topic. Feel free to edit the Dark Lord Ganondorf part of your post when you have time.

....And I'm sorry if I said anything off-putting. I'm having trouble figuring out what to type here....

ok so I tried in minus using beyonds riivolution and when i use it it says to insert the ssbb disc what might the problem be

Wish I knew. I don't use Riivolution myself, I use Gecko. Hopefully someone can answer your question later down the road.

From what I remember from the video comments on Youtube, the counter doesn't reset on KOs, otherwise it'd be impossible for 400+% on most stages. Im srs here

Kinda a good thing then, as it makes the game a bit more serious.

"Do I use my final smash now, or do I risk it and hold it off for his next life?"

Also gives incentive for players to fix their settings so that they have one final smash per life, which usually shows up near the end of the match. I'm currently trying myself to sync this code with a 5-stock match while still keeping the gameplay smooth and not overly broken, even WITH all my PSA characters.
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Code: Final Smash Obtained when XXX% total damage is dealt to opponent. on: July 17, 2012, 06:03:00 PM
So does the version when dealing 9001% actually work? Or was that just a waste of space for lols?

Yep, it works. Or rather, it should work. I plugged 9001 into my calculator and did everything in the description. Load it up with Brawl, find a controller with a Turbo function and make a stage that traps both you and your opponent in a small space. After a VERY long time with a character like Fox or Captain Falcon that has a rapid fire A button attack, you should get your final smash eventually.
11  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Code: Final Smash Obtained when XXX% total damage is dealt to opponent. on: July 17, 2012, 03:20:00 PM
This code was made by the paprika killer and was accidentally included in a recent version of Brawl Minus.

Don't claim credit for other people's work.

Ah, really? Sorry, didn't know. I first found out about the code via the people that I gave credit to in this topic. If what you say is true, then I'll happily change what I've said to give credit to paprikakiller instead.

Give me a few days and I'll have it fixed.

Okay 1 sorry about the download but maybe send me a new link and I can try it 2 I tryied the code on here and it kept saying insert the disk when I used the minus codeset

Sorry, I should have updated this topic earlier.

Everyone, the issue is closed and the upload problems are (hopefully) solved. You can all go here:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=47689.new%3btopicseen#new

I'm closing this topic. If you want to talk about the code, go to the new one. We'll be doing testing there as well. And by "we", I mean someone other than me who is far more competant and able. Not that I'm quitting, mind you. I'll do some work here and there myself, too.
13  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Code: Final Smash Obtained when XXX% total damage is dealt to opponent. on: July 15, 2012, 02:16:45 PM
This would be cool if the code worked in conjunction with turning smash balls on and off in the items menu.  I don't always want to play with this but would be fun every once in awhile.  Unless that's already how it works (here's hoping I'm mistaken?).

Yep, that IS how it works. Just leave Smash Balls on as a selected item and change the frequentcy of items appearing to "None". You wont have Smash Balls appear on screen (save for King Dedede and other item spawners) and you can get your final smash just by dealing out damage. You can set the item frequentcy higher to also make Smash Balls appear while the code is on too, but I don't see the point in doing so.

(NSTC-U Code, Untested for PAL)

Note: Wall of text is for your own benefit. Read it so you can learn stuff. You'll make Captain Falcon happy if you do. Cheesy

(Possibly broken) MediaFire Download link to .rar file containing the .txt file that was used to make this topic:
http://www.mediafire.com/?l4k26u8dx3ywzx5

Basically what the title says. You get your Final Smash after dealing the chosen amount of damage to your opponent(s). Makes the game far more fast paced and more like a respectable fighting game. To edit it, use Windows Calculator and activate Programmer mode under its View menu. Hit Dec and enter in the damage you want to receive your final smash at. Then switch between Dec and Hex on the left hand side of the calculator. (Acceptable values in Dex are between 0000 and 65535, while the highest value in Hex is FFFF.) If you have a three digit Hex number, just assume there's a zero in front of it. Copy the Hex number from your calculator and replace the XXXX in the code with it. Save, load your .txt file, create your .gct file in whatever way you prefer and load it into Brawl. Make sure Smash Balls are set to be on (you can have Item Frequency set to None....recommended, but not required...) and start your match. Enjoy activating your finishing move by being rewarded for racking up damage via combos instead of chasing some stupid ****ing ball around that usually breaks when the next person after YOU attacks it.

Some misc info via GanonZack's post:

GanonZack: (Paraphrased) "I tested the code in normal brawl (with all the codes that I have) and I found some interesting things. First of all, it doesn't work with the unrestricted pause camera code. Second, when Samus reaches the dealt damage to obtain the Smash Ball, she can do her Final Smash, and after transforming into Zero Suit Samus, she gains the power of the Smash Ball again."

Further testing will be done in the future to see the full effects of the code. For now, it has been confirmed to work with Vanilla Brawl, Brawl Plus, and it is assumed to work in Project Melee. As for Brawl Minus and Balanced Brawl, we are tentatively assuming that it works in them as well, as this seems to be one of those universal codes that you can throw into any custom Brawl you want and still have it work. It has yet to be tested online, but I doubt it will work unless your opponent has the same code running.

Here's the original unedited code so you can make the damage percentage whatever you want.

Last one is an obvious joke; I fully realize that it's impractical that you'll ever achieve this mid-battle without deliberate intent to do so.

Lastly, the credits. Give credit to these guys instead of me, I'm just publishing the work.

-Paprika Killer: Supposed original creator of the code, as said by Supreme Dirt of Kitty Corp. I trust him on this, as I've heard of the name myself frequently and thusly assume that he's fairly famous.
-Crashouti: Gave me the original 200% damage code in .txt form and was the original poster of the .gct file on Brawl Vault.
--Crashouti's original Brawl Vault post: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=27543
-Higure Hokousha: Found the hex value in the code that could be edited.
-GanonZack: For some testing and unconfirmed info.
-And Supreme Dirt: For telling me that Paprika Killer was the code's O.C..

Enjoy!

Tommarow I'll defiantly test in minus

Thanks. And sorry for the way I phrased myself in the PM....I hadn't seen this post yet.

Still, I'm wondering why it didn't work on your end....it works fine for me. Maybe it's just MediaFire being dicey. Like always.  not impressed

Well, best thinking is done on good night's sleep. I'll see you all tommorrow. Which is right now, thanks to me watching Toonami. I leiks me sum Deadman Wonderland....

(From BrawlVault submission)

"It's 2:10 am and I'm tired. Short plot synopsis? This upload is apparently being blocked for violations. Why? I don't know. I gave credit and everything. Even sent a PM to the original poster saying if he didn't want this up that I'd be happy to delete it. The only thing I can think of that I didn't do is show a picture of a .txt file, which could be fixed later. You know, NOT at 2:10 am. Like tommorrow, when I've had my coffee and sleep like a decent human being. Can I at least have that much? All I wanted was to do something NICE for the day. Just...make my fellow Smashers happy with something usefull. Instead, I seem to have committed some sort of taboo that even /I/ haven't heard about. And---

......

No. Not now. I'm going to bed. I'll deal with this tommorrow. Even if it's a problem now, I NEED sleep, dammit!

See you all Sunday."
