1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: (cBliss) Stages don't stop loading on: August 19, 2013, 12:58:52 PM
I had a pre-existing XML (with the stage expansion), and I used the cBliss tool to add to it.

I'll try it with the XML included with cBliss a little later.

I'm using Riivolution, but I'm NTSC.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / (cBliss) Stages don't stop loading on: August 14, 2013, 07:19:56 PM
I've downloaded the following files into my Brawl hacks, using Riivolution:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32217
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32364
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=33347

Everything seems to work at first. There are ten CSPs for each character in the character menu. The game hasn't frozen on the stage selection loadup or results screen or anything.

The problem is, when I choose a stage, the game will be stuck loading it. The battle won't ever start, the game won't ever freeze, it just gets stuck in the stage selection menu loading whichever stage has been chosen. Doesn't matter if the stage has been replaced or not, the game just stays on the loading screen until I turn the game off. It doesn't even freeze or anything, I can still press the power/reset button and they'll work. For some reason, something is keeping the game from being able to load the battle up.

Stages will occasionally start working for a session, but only under these circumstances:
  • The characters being used are the original (00) slots. Even preexisting slots won't work.
  • I use the random button to select a stage rather than selecting a stage myself (not 100% sure about this one).
  • If Wario is being used, it can be any slot.

Even with these conditions, though, this still barely ever works.

Since Wario doesn't get any new slots from cBliss, I suspect that the game is having trouble dealing with the new slots in battle, even though they already exist in the character menu.

I'm not really sure where to go from here, and I'm not really making any headway with finding the solution to the problem. Any help is appreciated.
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Common.pac not detecting hacks? on: April 25, 2013, 11:56:48 AM
Hey all. I've started to notice that anything that requires the common.pac isn't really working out for me.

For example, this Toon Zelda:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26206

and this Midna:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26591

are both turning out way bigger than they should be in game. I tried placing their FitZelda/SheikMotionEtc files in their appropriate folders as well as the common.pac, but neither are working. At the moment, I've started wondering whether or not the game is detecting my common.pac at all.

There is one mention of this file in my Brawl XML, and it looks like this:
Code:
<file external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/system/common.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac"/>

I don't really know where to go from here. Any kind of help is appreciated.
5  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Classic Exp. Pack 5.1 (Brawl) updated June 27 on: July 27, 2012, 12:14:06 PM
Okay, well, I've gotten a lot closer than I was before, but I'm still having the same problem. I was going at this for like 4 hours last night, and no matter how confident I was that I had finally found the problem, nothing I did fixed it.

What I did find out was, the RSBE01, common5, stages, and modules aren't the issue. At this point, I'm thinking it might be one or more of the following:
  • I need to add st_080805_0933.bin (though I don't think I need it since I'm using Riivolution
  • I have mu_menumain.pac in the wrong place (SD:\brawlmods\textures\menu2)
  • I have to replace my current boot.elf with the one in the pack
  • I need to place the Brawl.xml file in the right place
  • I need to place gameconfig.txt in the right place
  • I need to move everything to the vbrawl folder (which already has the stages and modules)
Though, when I loaded up Riivolution last time, I saw a new setting (File Replacement, which is currently on). I'm guessing that's the work of the Brawl.xml, but I wouldn't really know.

EDIT: I did it! I finally made it work! I'll explain the full details in a bit, but the short story is, I had to go into the Brawl.xml and actually change up the code to work with my file placement.
6  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Classic Exp. Pack 5.1 (Brawl) updated June 27 on: July 27, 2012, 01:54:37 AM
All the stages and .rels are where they would normally be. I took the RSBE01 straight from the pack without altering it, does it need to be changed around at all? It's definitely in the right place, at the very least, since the extra stages are showing in the SS menu (they weren't before I added the RSBE01).

At this point, I'm going to try adding a few of the other files and see if that works out for me.
7  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Classic Exp. Pack 5.1 (Brawl) updated June 27 on: July 26, 2012, 12:08:46 AM
Alright, thanks! Grin I can see the new stages on the SS screen now.

New little problem sprung up, though. None of the new stages seem to be working. I'm getting stuck at the loading screen right after I choose a stage. It doesn't freeze or anything, it just loads forever.

It might be because of the way my files are set up. My SD Card folders are set up like this:
http://allisbrawl.com/forum/topic.aspx?pid=1477993#p1477993
So normally, I'll put stage hacks as well as .rels in the same folder at SD:/brawlmods/stages/, but it doesn't seem to be working for these new ones.

Hey, pardon my stupidity, but I'm currently trying to add this pack (v5.1) and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right so far. I use Riivolution, standard Brawl (no vBrawl, Project M or anything).

Here's what I've got so far:
  • I've added the contents from the stage, module, and sound folders to their respective spots on my SD card.
  • I've added the mu_menumain to its appropriate spot (which includes the MiscData[80] folder).
  • I replaced the MiscData[80] folder on my common5 with the one provided in this pack.

The Instructions file says I also need to alter my codeset, but no matter how hard I Google I can't seem to find out what a codeset is and where I can find/place it. Does this step not apply for Riivolution? Or do I need to download Project M or something?

And lastly, what about any of the files in the pack that aren't mentioned in the Instructions? Do I just ignore them? Do any of the other files need to be altered/present for this to work? What about the files that aren't in my SD Card? I currently don't have any of the following in my SD Card (to my knowledge):
info.PAC
info_training.PAC
sc_sel_event.PAC
st_080805_0933.bin
Brawl.XML
gameconfig.txt
RSBE01.gct (I have RSBE.XML, though)

My character/stage/CSP/SSP hacks have worked so far without them. Do I need them for this pack, or is it more of an optional thing?
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Re: Paper Mario SFX (includes Announcer call!) on: July 25, 2012, 07:40:26 PM
I wish I knew why that was happening, it wasn't before. I didn't go anywhere near Falco's sounds, so I can't imagine why something like that would ever occur.

If anybody has any ideas as to why it's happening or how to fix it, and is able to explain it in terms that a technologically-oblivious buttmonkey would understand, please let me know.
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Certain stages can't be hacked over? on: April 15, 2012, 04:34:57 PM
I've been having issues with a few stages lately. I can usually use stage hacks without any huge issues, I know how to use .rel files and all that, but for some reason, certain stages freeze whenever I try to hack over them.

In particular, Skyworld, Green Hill Zone, and Lylat Cruise have been giving me trouble when I try to port stages over them. After I'll choose the stage in the stage selection screen, my game freezes. I've tried multiple hacks for each stage, even a few which were originally made over the intended stage, but no such luck. The hacks will work over other stages, but for some reason, these three just won't work for me, and I cannot find a reason for it.

On an unrelated note, I can't seem to replace the preview portraits for Hanembow and Mario Bros, either. I made sure that the file sizes were smaller than the original, but even at half the size, they don't seem to be working.

Pls halp Oh shi~

12  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Skyworld hacks always freeze on: October 15, 2011, 11:00:41 AM
Huh, that's strange, my post disappeared. Undecided

Skyworld is the only stage I've been having stage hack trouble in. All others have worked perfectly for me so far. I've tried using three stage hacks over it (using .rels) but they've all frozen on me on the stage menu.

I named the files STGPALUTENA.PAC and got the appropriate st_palutena.rel with the Stage Switcher. For some reason, though, none of them seem to work. I know sometimes there are hacks that won't work over certain stages, even with .rels, but after three times in a row, I'm starting to think there's another reason for it.

Edit: I just tried a hack made for Skyworld and that didn't work either. I have no clue as to why this would be happening. Angry Stupid Skyworld.
13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Skyworld hacks always freeze on: October 15, 2011, 02:38:08 AM
I hate Skyworld. It infuriates me. Im srs here

I'm not really sure why, but I've been having trouble putting stage hacks over it. I realize that sometimes certain hacks with .rels won't work over certain stages, but I've never had this problem besides the three times it's happened for Skyworld, which has made me somewhat suspicious that something's afoot.

These are the hacks I've attempted to port over it:
http://stacksmash.kontek.net/?p=13235
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=7571
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=12646

For all three, I had a st_palutena.rel file (for their respective stages) and their files were STGPALUTENA.PAC. For all three, the game froze as soon as I chose the stage in the menu. I checked around the nets, but there doesn't seem to be any sign of Skyworld pulling a Game & Watch and being a complete pain to mess around with. I've never had a problem with any of the other stages I replaced, and these stages all work under different levels. At this point, I'm guessing either my Stage Switcher .rel program is messed up or there's some sort of devious secret with Skyworld I don't know about yet.

Please help. Lips Sealed

15  Help & Tutorials / Help / How do I set up a new SD card? on: September 15, 2011, 02:17:34 AM
Forgive my stupid question, I'm awful with technology.

My laptop got a nasty little virus a while back, and it ended up bricking my SD Card. I didn't back anything up. I've bought myself a new SD card, my laptop's all good now, and I'm ready to start re-downloading some of the stuff I lost.

I've already got the Homebrew Channel and Riivolution and all that on my Wii, I'm assuming no changes are necessary there?

The main problem I've got here is that I'm not the one who set up the original SD card I used. My friend did it all. I just need to know, is there a particular setup I should be going for with my new SD card? And if so, what do I need to know in order to find out which setup to use?

Also, if I set it up wrong, is there more of a chance that my Wii could get bricked? I just want to make sure it's safe for a computer-stupid person like me to be setting up my Brawl-hackin' SD card.

There are some guides here on how to get started with SD cards. Should I just follow whichever one while ignoring any instructions that involve hacking my already hacked Wii?

Sorry I'm really bad at this and all. I'll draw you guys a giraffe or something to make it up to you.
