use the vertex weld modifier to make the vertices connect correctly, and after that if needed, use the smooth modifier

Should I apply the smooth modifier before or after I done the rig?

Along with the Completionist Cape, Goliath Gloves and Steadfast Boots (when I can get them into 3ds Max, they're not playing ball at the moment Sad)

I've got every Runescape models as of the 4th June 2012, which is over 70000 models :/. Unfortunately there's no way to tell what model is what without looking through them and there is no clear structure to their order. I've looked through a little over half of them and found most of the characters I want to rig. I'm going to look through the rest so if anyone wants to rig any RS characters then drop me a private message and I'll keep an eye out when I'm looking through, just to save anyone else the hassle of looking through 70k models.

Also the way the armour etc is structured is so that it aligns perfectly so all you need to do is import it into 3ds Max etc without moving anything around, effectively allowing you to have any armour combination or even perfectly recreate your own RS characters.

This is gonna be my first attempt at rigging and it'll be over Ganondorf. Obviously I've still got to add the gloves and boots.



I never realised how fun it was although nothing has gone terribly wrong yet, so I'll reserve a full judgement until then :p

My vote goes to Fox and my suggestion is Shade the Echidna.

I put loads of suggestions of different characters on the first page of this thread though I would like to see a customizable Lego character. And some of the characters from the Mass Effect series. And the Castlevania series. And the God of War series. Among other characters as well.

The thing is the new crash bandicoot games have ruined any respect I had for the old ones.

The new ones (which I agree are terrible compared to the originals) are made by totally different people. Having the original company make a game then another company make a  worse game of the same franchise does not lower the quality of the older game in any way.

Sad I was looking forward to using Kratos with the Blade of Olympus. Who will Kratos be rigged over?

It's funny how it looks like Kratos is naked and Brawl has censored it xD Though what happened to his hands and face?

You know, I'm the one who ripped the model you're using. I'm about ready to say you're not allowed to use it, and if you used it after then, it would be STEALING something I produced.

Just because you ripped it, it doesn't mean it is yours; you merely aquired it, you have no copyright or say over it. If you're so god damn impatient rig it yourself.

Pikazz will release it when he's ready, regardless of if there's currently nothing wrong with it.

If i remember correctly someone mentioned something about the Mario Kart Wii model format being similar to the Brawl format. Would it be plausible to rig a model to a MKW character's skeleton and import it into MKW via Brawlbox so the character would still be animated or would the be compatability issues?

Ok I did a quick rig proportion test, editing the model so that key areas like the waist, arms and knees are in proportion with the different skeletons.

Below are the results. <_< Please note that I didn't spend much time editing the model to fit the skeletons, so they could be refined more but the general proportions probably won't change much.
 
Pit is almost perfect but his hands are huge. Ike's knees are a tad too high.

Any ideas on who I should put him on now?

The question is how noticable will it be in game. I voted for Ike, Kratos + Blade of Olympus = Epic. Unless Kratos is to get a PSA from someone then he would be more suited to Ike in my opinion.

I'm loving the progress on the Kratos texture.

I voted for other, I think you should make a custom model of a character that is not normally playable in a game. (e.g. for the God of War series any of the Gods)

Btw, does Kratos' design change throughout the series? or does he look the same in all of them?

I voted for Ike. Kratos impaling people with the Blade of Olympus would be awesome.

If he's on C.Falcon or Ganondorf I think the Nemian Cestus would be a good fit as Kratos isn't known for punching people to death with his fists. Ripping them apart yes but punching them no.

Aside from being impaled a few times his design stays pretty much the same.
