46  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: [General] Custom made models on: January 29, 2016, 09:58:58 PM
Here are a couple of things I made.

~2 years, ~11900 polygons
To scale with real mountains.

1 week, ~1500 polygons
Has more details on the back than on the front.

Time for a new model! It's another Mario series creation.

One-Way Wall
Super Mario Maker

I'll be impressed if anyone finds a use for this.

I like the N64 FLUDD! The textures on it look a bit too smooth, though. Maybe try sharpening the edges and reducing the number of colors used for the texture? That could help give it that authentic N64 look.

Also, I never noticed before that Mario really does have a blocky right leg in Super Mario 64. Now I can't unsee it...

So how's the material for the head/pants? I tried forever for that.

It's shiny, but it doesn't quite have the same feel without the holographic sticker pattern on it.

DK Island uses a very small number of polygons to help it conform to the sea level, but otherwise it is a giant sprite. Of course, the model is available to download, so you could check it out yourself.

The model is now available for download!

It would be a lot of effort for anyone to import it, but I look forward to seeing what people do with it.

The level of detail isn't quite high enough for fighters to be directly on it, but it could work as a backdrop.

Also, the whole thing is only 11,900 polygons.

I can finally show off what I've been working on for the past two years!!

Welcome to Crocodile Isle

I'll upload it later tonight or tomorrow. I'm tired.

Model is up for download!

I know how the eyes work, and the inclusion of modeled eyelids is intentional. I figured it was better to have double-eyelids than making him wide-eyed all the time.

The model is now up on TMR!

Just as a note for anyone who would consider importing it, it's not 100% Brawl-ready out of the box. I wasn't sure how to do the eyelids, so I didn't try creating UVs for them and simply included the eyelid textures. Also, the DAE probably won't import straight into BrawlBox.

I didn't think ImageShack would be down for this long... Rehosted the image.

The images are not loading for me
As it turns out, some of Imageshack's servers went down shortly after I posted that. If it doesn't come back up soon, I'll rehost it.

Surely I can't be the only person who has made a custom model in over two months...

"DK? Is that really you?"
"Who else would it be?"

I live!

I have been playing lots of Super Mario Maker lately, but I managed to fit in some time to make a new model.

I just have three words to say about it first:

"sorry, not sorry"

Unlike my usual stuff, this one is made specifically for the sake of being a Brawl hack, built over the character's skeleton. I'm going to put it up for download on TMR soon, but first...

anyone want to claim importing it?

I made a floppy disk. It's from Mighty Switch Force!

Some of the details are based on real floppy disks, such as the groove in the back for the metal cover to slide on.
