31  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: BrawlVault: Feedback and Updates on: May 16, 2015, 03:02:51 PM
Then later my PM somehow changed and I got notified of a PM after I read the original one(This quote is the newer one; I can't get the original one, because it got replaced with this)
This absolutely did not happen. You misread the message the first time.

Exemptions from necroposting:
  • Stickied topics.

Next time, just report and leave it at that.

this too. if your opinion is generally different compared to everyone else's or if you prove a point against someone, you generally get warned.
The majority of our warnings are for necroposting and spamming, so I don't know where you got this idea.

And did that take care of it?
35  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Board Problems, Suggestions and Updates on: January 12, 2015, 01:48:16 PM
Do you have "return to topics after posting" checked in your preferences?
36  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: BrawlVault: Feedback and Updates on: January 11, 2015, 12:02:37 PM
Fixed, thanks.

I loved how before with Brawl Vault, you could right-click on the numbers representing the pages to go through, and click "Open in a new tab", so I was wondering if you could bring that functionality back or not.

Those numbers aren't actual links, so no. But BV still supports page numbers in URLs for backwards compatibility. Didn't want to break any links that might be out there on the internet. So you can still link directly to a particular page by adding "&Page=X" to any search results URL, e.g. http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?MainType=Audio&Page=10

But online translators are not good.
They don't translate things quite good.
We're an English-speaking board. The end.

But what if somebody doesn't speak English quite good and decides to speak in Spanish?

or at least include an English version via online translator

Why is BrawlVault sending me messages for Collaborations?
It always has.
39  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: BrawlVault: Feedback and Updates on: January 02, 2015, 01:58:50 PM
Go ahead and write them. We'll have our Spanish-speaking staff proofread it.

Make a note in there that posts should be in English or at least include an English version via online translator. We are an English-speaking board.

Its primary use is going to be in posts with a lot of complicated formatting, so that editing them later isn't a total nightmare. Like I said, this is what code comments are usually good for.

For example, the reason I added it is that I volunteered to help Miacis update the Gaming Challenge topic. The list of users there consists of a ton of tables, and knowing which cell belongs to which user is a pain. Now I can just have a comment at the start of each cell that states whose it is.

I needed something, so you all get a little new feature.

Code:
[note]Text[/note]

It's a simple comment system. Anything between the "note" tag will not show up in your posts, letting you add comments that will still be there whenever you edit the post. Useful for all the things that code comments typically are. All line breaks after the closing tag are removed.

Comments are included when someone quotes a post as well, so don't include anything you wouldn't want anyone to see.

That is a given, and stating it does not solve the problem.
43  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Board Problems, Suggestions and Updates on: December 05, 2014, 07:00:38 AM
I've never particularly liked forums that do that, and we'd need compelling reasons to subscribe other than "no ads," so I'm not sure that's something we'd do. But thanks for the suggestion.

I was just making a statement to allay any concerns. None of that was directed at you specifically.
45  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Board Problems, Suggestions and Updates on: December 04, 2014, 01:54:09 PM
We're not ignoring the problem.

Every shared host we've ever had has [censored]ed us over in some way. Moving to a new one is not likely to result in a positive change. But we're also not interested in staying with our current one, for obvious reasons.

As discussed on our Facebook page, that leaves us with upgrading our hosting plan to something more substantial. But doing that requires us to also upgrade our business plan into one that, for starters, exists.  Right now, we get the occasional donation, but our costs are mostly covered out of pocket. We can't pay for dedicated hosting with donations alone, so we have to figure out advertising, where we're willing to put ads, how much we can make, how much we can spend, and what to do with any excess.
