It's not just Sonic with vertex edits, it has Brawl Chest Fur and optimized Generations shoes, cloth and rings.
All the other "sonics with vertex edits" can go to hell.
I'm looking at you, Shadow Vault.

we could remvamp tails. change sonic up a bit with the shadow boost side b and maybe port pm knuckles to ou knuckles or do a fusion psa

If you're gonna do that, then give tails brand new looking animations and a new model (pretty much new everything)  so he'll fit in well with the cast and will look polished(he looks very unpolished).
And giving sonic a overpowered side b from a horrible psa?
Why?
It's better to not change sonic up and keep him the same from brawl so he'll fit in well.
If you are gonna give him a side b boost, then don't give it such a [censored]ty recovery, make it like fox's, on ground he should have a cool down time at the end of the boost.
I'm just suggesting some ideas so you can make a better psa.

Goku and Vegeta have Sonic/Shadow alts, but I think it would be too much for Megaman and Bass to get the same kind of alt costume. I don't remember for sure but didn't someone also get a Tails alt?

Maybe a Sigma or Bass (Megaman battle network) alt or one of the other spinoffs like Megaman Starforce, Megamanzero the list goes on.

Oh yeah, megaman over snake got a tails alt.
