Hi guys. I guess you could say I'm new...ish...okay yeah I joined yesterday. I'm also new to texture hacking, kinda, I've only got one somewhat successful one, pretty much all the others are either in early WIP or I can't make them without photoshop (yes I'm still using ASH, I don't know how to use BrawlBox...)
Anyway, here's that one successful texture I mentioned.
Nayru (updated)
Ralph
Not much left to do on him, just maybe give him some more detail and customize his sheild, and I think I'm good.
Fierce Deity Toon Link Tutorial THIS IS IMPORTANT GUYS
Okay, so some people kinda slop through their textures like, yeah, whatever. Well I've made a delightful method of making textures that's so easy to understand, a monkey could do it.
I've decided to use a Fierce Deity Toon Link as an example since everybody loves making those. I don't blame 'em, Toon link is fun to work with.
STEP 1: BASICS
Here we tackle the basics of the texture, such as colors that need to be changed, facial markings, etc.
Ooh! Ouch what happened with the facial markings? That's not right. That's why we should always ALWAYS test often, especially before making significant changes to the testure.
Ah. Much better. I also too the time during the revision to give him his gray gloves.
STEP 2: OUTLINING
Now here we're going to make the details of the armor. Here's a huge tip, always work with a referance picture. Now I've used dark colors of the base colors that will fill the blue area for the outlining, sort of to help me to remember what colors go where.
Ah ah ah! Don't be lazy and cop out! Do the back too!
There. Now let's add the remaining details.
Perfect. Now this step I HIGHLY adivse that you do the outlining for such drastic changes on a seperate layer using Paint.Net or Photoshop, so it's easy to go back and revise without destroying the texture. Save one copy as pdn or pswhatever it is for photoshop and one copy as the .png you use for implanting back into ther .pac.
STEP 3: CELL SHADING
Now we just give our little friend some color by filling in the outlined areas with the base colors.
Steps to come:
STEP 4: Shading
STEP 5: Tinkering (i.e. Sword, Sheild, etc.)
Okay well apparently the new board doesn't support spoiler tags, so sorry if this is stretchin my post.
Well this is as far as I've gotten in mine, so I'll just leave you with a badass picture.
Sorry, not available for download just yet. But enjoy the eye candy! :3
