Question:
If you want to make a topic about something there is already a topic about, but it's from quite a while ago, you should bring that topic back to life or make a new one?

I was quoting one of my posts on the "resent posts of this user" part of the forum, and it went to another post I made instead of the one I wanted to quote. (I pressed the quote button btw.)

Well, sometimes when we click to go to a post but it's nearly the end of a page, we end up going to the next page instead. It's a weird bug, but it really happens very often.

Like br3 said, if you click a link to a post, for example, a past post, it may take you to the page after the post you're looking for It used to work flawlessly. Now it does that.

In addition to what br3 and segtendo said, whenever I try and go to a post in a past page, no matter where the post is on the page, I end up at the top of the most recent page. I dunno why.

I'm pretty sure I explained this problem already, but I guess I'll do it again :
This problem is only affecting large threads.
Reason : There seems to be some sort of an "illegal operation" that users do at random (with a pretty low probability), and that will push forward the pagination of pages by ONE POST. So if the action is done once, then for the rest of the whole thread, the link to the last post of a page of that thread will link to the next page. If the action is done twice, then the last post and the before-to-last post of a page will link to the next page, etc...
The Family thread has a crapload of posts => Statistically, the illegal operation happenned alot of times. On said thread, it was done more than 15 times, so any link to a post will screw up, no matter the post.
Now, how to fix it : we don't know ! We have no ides what is the "illegal operation" that causes that. .-.

Stop complaining, nothing we can do about too much traffic. We're too famous for our own good. We can be grateful that Dantarion is hosting us for free with all the bandwith we're eating.

is anyone gonna fix the error 500 ? Sure, just give us a bunch of money to get a better server. Or just wait until summer ends. We'll have a lot less traffic.

For a reliable (ad-free) host that could handle this much traffic? We'd run out of money faster than you'd think.
And the money Robz donated didn't go to us, it went straight to Dant. There was a possiblity of insufficient funds on the account charged for the webhosting, so he asked us for help and we set up donations.

I thought you guys got 200 bucks some time ago. That was an emergency to cover the costs of the bandwidth we're currently using. $200 does not even begin to approach the amount needed for a server upgrade.
Chat leads to a Mibbit... thing now. Maybe it'll get embedded on-site one day. Maybe not.
If you have an issue with a PM, you need to report it, not post it here.
