Title: Importing Obj Into Brawl Is Now Possible! (Tutorial Up!)

I just thought this was awesome so i posted it, spreading the good news! I didnt discover it, its similar to imports. Because it cant go over characters... Yet. If people find a way to convert them to .DAEs brawl hacking will be on the news! Check the thread, someone imported Magikoopa and converted it to .OBJ, he says a guide is coming soon! :3

Dunno, but didn't the source engine (gmod, tf2, half-life2 (!)) use .obj? If so, that would be awesome :D

nope Obj can be any file from anything, as long as it gets converted which isnt that hard i hear. This means Master Chief, Mewtwo, Nightmare, Silver, all in brawl one slot, if they figure out how to convert them to a .DAE which idk how far that is but still this is awesome. ^^

just saw that on the thread, lol. Yeah he needs to explain how he did it this cud change brawl modding forever. What i want them to figure out is making it possible to be added over a character one slot, similar to like how starwaffle put little mac over sheik.

One slot imports aren't that hard. They just require a lot of vertex edits and bone restructuring.

It's just a lot of vertex edits and hexing. I told you over at Smashboards that I have a one-slot Lloyd now too.

Yeah I already started one. He was my test subject for one slot imports. His body is just horribly disfigured.

Ouch.
But it is fixable, isn't it?

Back on topic, I imported a crystal from Pokemon Soul Silver into SZS Modifier and it saves.
It however didn't show up in BrawlBox after running the .brres through the hexers.

Needs a lot of vertex fixes before release and I wouldn't release the Lloyd I have since it's from Project Lloyd and I have nothing to do with fixing his model. And they don't want to use it for the project either.

Back on subject. At least, for now a vertex hacker can import the obj and pose them for stages for now. At least until dae starts working to allow imports to have bones.

But your still have Naruto right?
Because I wouldn't mind if you released it.

Importing .obj into SZS Modifier is tricky, since most .obj won't import or save after import.

It means putting a import over one character texture slot while still having the others not replaced.
IE Naruto one slotted so that you can use the Naruto import AND the Naruto Ike texture at the same time.

oh no, this is importing .obj which can be any file from any game or 3d model. It can be used for stages now, but not characters.

I was wondering if it would be possible to export a brawl model, then import it as an obj onto a character. That way we could have plasma kirby, fire kirby, ice kirby, needle kirby, etc. I also wanted a custom hat of mine, Dragoon Kirby. Would that be possible?

eh, idk. it might be in development because this cud lead to the future of brawl modding. But alas i didnt do this i just made the post.

.obj files can't use bones. It's better for someone to get .dae working. But even then it'll still be a matter of a whole lot of models that can't do anything in brawl without a lot of work from many people. If they can even work at all.
