I'm new to this modding thing so please be patient with me. So last night after several hours I finally installed a brawl pack mod named, Brawl 4 All.  Its very cool but I was wondering if I can install a character mod from the vault and if so, how? How would i put it in the game files? Would the game crash due to too many characters? I tried watching videos and nothing really helps, can anyone help me step-by-step?

In the Brawl Vault, if the description says that it's a Texture, Vertex, or Import, or anything like that, it would go over a costume slot(Palette swap). What's called a one-slot PSA would also go over a costume slot, otherwise a normal animation would go over all the costume slots of a character. For where these would go and what to name them, you can use this.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that, but I'm guessing that you're referring to be able to add a new character all-together and not as a palette swap, correct? In that case, you can use Brawl Ex.
