Ah, I see what you're getting at. Currently, we're using rim lighting to emulate higher quality lighting that Brawl's, so we're not really using it as rim lighting. It was originally like that to emulate the Smash 4 lighting since that's what I was trying to recreate when I created the first texture (before it was titled Smash 3, even) so that's why it's a bit more subdued.
But, like you've said, we've strayed quite far from vBrawl, and it's starting to really transform into its own style. We'll try out actual rim lighting effect for sure, we'll see how it looks!

OH YEAH. Loving that Ness. Totally reminds me of the Melee days. That vividness looks so cool I cant wait to see it in game with the rim applied. Cant wait to see what recolors you have planned, I have a few myself I would mind making or at least suggesting.

LOVE the threadwork in the hat/pants. Amazing. Now I'm super glad I waited this long to work on my Project Nostalgia rendition of Ness. Using this as a base, noooooooo doubt about it.
Keep it comin'!

...Why would P:M need recolors? Are you talking about Doctor Mario etc.? All textures can be applied to any respective hackset...

Same, initial reaction to Ganon is kinda negative.
He's looks bright as the sun right now, I think that's the major problem. Doesn't help that you showcased him on a stage with dark lighting, lol.
(Speaking of which, you might want to showcase characters from Pictochat, so as to present the models without any color distortion from stage lighting)

The screenshot is actually from one of our earlier builds to make sure the basic re-texturing showed up properly in game. We decided to show it off so folks know we're still working (if at a horribly slow pace).
You guys' concerns have already been addressed in the current version, so thanks for sticking around.

Cant wait for the final render of Ganon. I may want to do some "DLC" textures if its ok.

You and everyone else are always welcome to create your own textures with our work! In most cases, we'll even share our .psds with you upon request.
