i swapped the YRotN bone with the KenE bone. it's the only bone i could find that wasn't attached to the model. and so what exactly do you mean by sorting Young Link over Toon Link?
Same issue i'm afraid.. the placement of the TransN bone..

well, maybe i'm not understanding completely, but are you just trying to make Brawl not apply the YRotN movements to Geno? if that's the case, all you have to do is rename the bone to something else and Brawl will skip it.

Nope, definitely. I'd know because I'm the one that told him about the hitbox problems. You see, he's making Luneth out of Snake. Snake doesn't have a sword. If you port him over Marth, who HAS a sword, the game will do one of the following when attempting to use an attack that has Marth's sword involved (AKA; All of Marth's attacks):
-The game will lock up. Because the moveset will attempt to find Marth's sword bone, which doesn't even exist, thus making the game freeze.
-The move will do nothing, because there is no hurtbox on the sword bone, because the sword bone will not exist.
And why do you even need to port it? It's a futile effort, just use the mod on the character it was intended to replace.

It's for the same reason that Marcus Pheonix has shadow attacks, why Master Cheif has a Falcon Punch, why Geno has a bow and arrow, why 02 is incredibly fast and uses a sword, and why Rouge the Bat has a pink umbrella

Now I'm no expert on anything, so this is just theory, but couldn't you vertex his hand into a rough sword (swords aren't high detail, just a thin blade the same length as marth's) then inside that vertex move one of his hand bones and have it match the sword? Rename the hand bone to have the game treat it as Marth's sword bone, and thus Luneth could use Marth's moveset and be ported to a more appropriate character?

Mario's build had to stay in order for the arms to animate right, though I agree.
How about a MotionEtc where his arms are smaller? He's going to have new attacks for his PSA anyway, so there's going to be a MotionEtc reguardless. Might as well fix it there!

Pik, you shouldn't see at as competition. Both you and everyone else is just creating great hacks for the schmucks like us who love them and want to make our experience with this game as awesome as possible- if you make two versions of the same thing, great! Then people have a choice and more people are happy. Unless you are in this for the +1 Downloads, which I don't think you are, you should be happy to make similar things as other people, but with your own touch. You are making a completely different design as well, from a different game, which is unique. People love what you make, please, release it so we can use them.

Looks great Pik but the hair in the ingame pictures doesnt look like in brawl box
In a good or bad way, lol? There's a couple of reasons why it doesn't; first is because I had to flip the strands coming out of his hair wave. They weren't double sided. (meaning they'd disappear from the front, but show in the back) Brawlbox shows them as if they were solid, so I couldn't tell at first.
Second is because brawl's shading engine is hitting it, and brawlbox is totally void of a lighting system. Though it has a really [censored]ty shading one that does pretty much nothing for the model.

I myself was hoping quote was next but i guess young link had ALOT more stuff done and many people want him so i'll go with young link.
As a fan of the Fire Emblem games and the manga, I'm enjoying this version of Roy. Both of today's releases have qualities that I like about them. In Pik's case, I'm actually liking the hair and face as well as the level of detail in the Sword of Seals.
Not sure if it's an issue but it seemed as though Roy's face seems a little too animated in the victory quote at the results screen (anticipating that someone's mentioned it already).
My dream Roy at this stage would probably consist of a port of your "Brawl Styled" Melee Roy textures used in conjunction with this model (keeping the detail on the SoS) ,but it sounds as though you'll be revising this one even further so I look forward to see what you do with it.

If you'll allow me to give a small critique on Geno (after looking at him in BrawlBox for a Texture idea I am working on)?
Geno needs to have his vertexing perfected, and by perfected, I mean some of the vertices need a small fixing. A good example being the hip area where the legs and hips meet. They need to be flattened out somehow.
Another one is the way some vertices affect the face and arm textures. There is a noticeable angle on the face and both arms that needs fine tuning (or straightening out) so that anything put on them comes out in a straight line. Geno also has a couple of small, albeit almost unnoticeable holds where the hat meets the head.
They aren't a priority, but fixing those would benefit texture hacking on Geno immensely.
I would do these myself...-but I can't due to Collada not wanting to wok on my Windows 7 for some odd reason, even though I have the needed plugin for 3DSMAX 8.
Making sure, are these the areas you're talking about? that hat thing isn't even noticeable so I'll let it slide.

Those other areas, yes. The face and lower arms however both have verts that veer off on top of the arm, it makes the straight lines I had in the texture look not as good as I would hope.
The area on the hips I was talking about should also be fixed.
-and if you're going to do one with a vest instead of a cape, make the one with a cape available too (though I think that may have been your plan from the beginning).
Roy is beautiful, but I'm not sure if you noticed/someone else has mentioned but during the win pose where he sticks one arm out his face does crazy ass things. It's very disturbing lol.
This happens (I believe) if Geno grabs a battering item (probably can't do much about this)

Are you planning on giving Link his janky iron sword, or are you just going to leave the master sword? It could be cool to have a Link with the iron sword and the ordon shield, maybe even vertex the bow into the slingshot, but that would mess with all of the colors and it may not even be possible.

It sounds stupid, but how about fixing the old Tifa texture and how it freezes when you transform from Samus to Zero Suit Samus.
It doesn't freeze when you transform. I've had that texture for months and never had that problem. What're you talking about? O_o

You need to have the both the pcs AND the pac file of the Tifa texture to avoid the freezing.

It works when you play as Zero Suit Samus instantly, but for me it freezes and beeps when you change from Samus to Zero Suit after final smash transformation :/

Are your .PAC and .PCS files the same size? This is what made my ZSS and Zelda textures freeze when transforming. You need to run the .PCS file through lz77ex.exe if this is the problem. Then rename the output file into a .PAC file. If this is the problem then this should help

And Pik, for the future, you can't save a .pcs as a .pac in BrawlBox because it'll compress it and therefore corrupt it, causing your .pac to freeze. of course, you can save a .pac as a .pcs though. :3

If you save a "pair" with BrawlBox (it's one of the "file types" you can choose along with pcs and pac), it will give you a pcs and pac that both work. I use this as a workaround.

Umm there's not much difference in the Power Suit other than it fits to her shape more and looks(much) Shinier. That effect would be difficult to replicate I think, the speed booster and slightly less bulky shoulders though were different.
Also who thinks that Other M takes place just before the timeline of the metroid prime series? Either that or just after it since she looks a little older and the space pirates are more 'gone' than they were in first metroid prime.

I downloaded the young link vertex, his upB(without the motion file) was screwy, it spun and stopped halfway through and during his entry, his legs wiggle a lot. With the motion file in, his upB spun awkwardly rather than straight as opposed to normal link, and his entry is still with wiggly legs. The upB also looks weird with non-young link textures. Is there a way for you to fix the upB? Also, how bad would it look if you were to not rename the bones? :P
If he didn't have renamed bones he would be giant.
edit: Oh... wait. I know what you're talking about. I used his Y-rot to resize him. (which is pretty much only used in his spin attack and opening)
I had to take his HipN and use it for the rest of the Spin attack, otherwise he'd stop spinning altogether halfway - I didn't see the issue except that he's a little off-center at the end. It only happens on the ground anyways.

Yeah. On the intro cutscene, her hair was more less saturated gold, which is pretty good IMO. On the other cutscenes her hair was almost pure yellow almost like in Brawl, but only because the game probably couldn't handle the colour in dark lighting, same with the colour purple that couldn't be handled as well for the Gravity Suit.
But that Other M Samus is just amazing. <3

Oh yeah I forgot hard mode and easy mode were only in the wiiware version of cave story but basically it's just yellow suit quote for easy and for hard was a blue suit but quotes face was chubbier and tan.

The thing is, with most of my hacks, I complete the mod fairly quickly; but the rest is just ironing things out. They may seem complete, however.
For example: Other M Samus has PAC compression problems. Quote's model is being cleaned up.

I've had these hacks behind the case for way too long, yeah. Let me know if these problems are acceptable:
-NES Pit freezes if you glide or use B excessively
-Other M freezes if you select her on the CSS, but can transform fine
-In addition, Other M Samus' model is messier than I'd like
-Luneth has animation problems and also lacks a head
-Ashley's body can't even leave 3ds Max.
I should just upload most of them in a pack. There's also a decent amount of hacks I have un-shown, which may be released as well, but weren't announced due to giant wait times my hacks potentially have
It's usually not laziness though - nearly all of my hacks have been legitly reported for problems, so I just wanna have a few that are alright lol

Nah, he's over Lucas. Since his mask is going to appear on his head via article replacements, we're planning to give him a gimmick where his mask breaks off of his head once he reaches 100%, and he transforms into Unmasked Man.

Personally, I prefer the colours of this one to the other one. I'd probably like the other one more however, if the hair was less saturated (as in it was brighter) to give a nice contrast to the dress.

I like the original baby blue dress best, but the lavender one looks good as wel.

I think that the light blue is better than the lavender personally. Also now Kumatora looks like she's female, not an ugly dude. :) It is coming along nicely, and will certainly find a permanent slot on my game. Great job Pik.

I assume that the hurtbox on lucas would not extend to be the size that is kumatora. Due to the bones not having any change in the motionetc to move the hitbox as this vertex hack is just extending the models and not the bones. Looking good so far!

Well on the previews Pik posted, all you saw was the front, which didn't show a ponytail, obviously.
If you open her up on BrawlBox [you can get her model by downloading Action 29] you can flip her body around, and see the ponytail.

Fun fact: They are making a Cowboy Bebop movie, and Keanu Reeves is set to play Spike. It is currently being rewritten because cost estimates for the original script were at half a billion (Supposedly, thats just what was said in an interview, but I call bs). Lookin' good. I do think his hair could be a bit more like Spike's, and the tie could be a little longer, but other than that looks pretty awesome. Once you get the texture on there I think you will be set. I really can't wait for this to be done.

Could someone help me out and explain how I would go about taking the part of the Young Link motionetc that allows the size mod and add it to another Link motionetc (I'm trying to add it to a motionetc for Brawl+ that also has Link's multi-stab jab)
I'm pretty well versed in Brawl Box and I'm assuming it's just a simple export-import job, I just don't know what needs to be exported.
