So, I've recently started playing around with animation swapping with BrawlBox and I decided to make a PSA using a bunch of animations from various characters and assist trophies.  Every move but the second hit of his neutral A and his dash attack has been changed.  See if you can figure out what's from what character. ^^

Jab >  Slash: Marth does a quick jab with his left hand and then slashes upwards.

Up Tilt
Crescent Slash: Marth swings his sword in a wide arc over his head.  Not too fast, but fairly powerful.

Down Tilt
Low Punch: Marth does a very quick sweep with his left hand.  Extremely weak attack, but fast.

Forward Tilt
Thrust: Marth does a fast lunge forward.  Pretty long range, pretty fast, pretty strong.  An all around good attack.

Circular Slash: Marth spins his sword in a circle around his body.  Medium speed, but hits all around you.

Up Tilt
Flip Kick: Marth does a dramatic flip while kicking.  This attack is a good launcher and a nice finisher for combos.

Down Tilt
Corkscrew Slash: Blademaster Marth's former Up Aerial is now his Down, the hitbox is now on the sword.  It's a good move for disrupting enemies' recovery or poking people, just beware as it lasts fairly long.  Thanks to Eldiran for this idea! :D

Drop Kick: Marth lifts his leg up very high and kicks downwards.  This attack's pretty slow, but it's powerful and spikes.

Back Tilt
Double Kick: Marth kicks twice behind, ending up facing the other way.  Hits twice, but is pretty weak.

Up Smash
Hop Stab: Marth jumps into the air and stabs upwards.  This is a great attack.  It has large vertical range, and will launch up any enemies next to him as well.

Sweep Kick: Marth does a kick two each side of himself.  This attack does a lot of damage, and can hit twice if you aim it right.

Change Log

v0.2:
  • Fixed the hitboxes on the up smash.
  • Fixed assorted hitboxes.  I'm pretty sure all the moves work now.
  • Changed Up Aerial.  It's now a flip kick.
  • Changed Down Aerial.  It's now the former up aerial, but with a hitbox on the sword.
  • Fixed the SFX.

I actually originally tried to turn Marth into Lin but nothing happened when I replaced the model.  Apparently model swapping doesn't work yet...  Or I just don't know how to. XD

It's the newest version of SmashBox, an awesome program that allows you to edit many things that can't be ASHed.  And, as you can see, it can also be used for animation swapping. (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=238861)

EDIT: Added one more (rather unexciting) picture.  I'm currently working on hitboxes.

Oh, btw, thanyou, model swapping is possible!.  You just need to edit both the .pac and the .pcs.  Best of all, it's specific to a single costume.  SakiLinGreyFoxResettiMarth here I come!  I call dibs on Lin!  But first I'm going to finish this.  It'll probably go well with Lin anyway. ^^

All of his normal moves are now working (besides his Forward Smash).  his Forward Smash is giving me a lot of trouble. T_T

No, you can't assign a moveset to a specific costume.  But you can assign a model swap to a specific costume.

I really like this, if only because it's a moveset based around move swapping.  I'm sure I don't need to tell you it needs a lot of refinement, moveswaps and hitboxes alike.  You were pressured into releasing this after all.

Anyway -- my only pertinent suggestion is this:  the uair would make an awesome and unique down-air if you put a hitbox on the spinning sword.

Yeah, this is really my first PSA so it needs plenty of refinement.  Though it makes it easier for me, in that I can lift hitboxes from the other characters. ^^

Also, that's a really good idea for a DAir.  It shall be taken into consideration.  ;)

@ thanyou: I'm not sure if it's currently possible to bring in outside models.  Even if it is, you're going to have to be very careful with the bones.  Don't let that discourage you though. ^^

Also, I made this moveset with the sound off, so the sound effects probably don't sound right yet.

EDIT: Whoo...  I just realized the hitbox on his Up Smash is totally screwed up.  I hopefully fixed this.  And Eldiran, I have to say that his new Down Aerial is really sweet.  Thanks for the good idea. :D

I don't think it's possible to switch parts of models.  Unless you eidt it outside of BrawlBox and then shove it back in.

As long as its in Brawl's format, I believe it can replace other models from the game, it just has to have a similar bone structure...... which very few characters have

Yeah.  As long as you have a mdl0 converter (I believe Pharrox is working on one) and the bones are rigged correctly, you can import models from anywhere.

Essentially what we're saying is that you can import models from anywhere else (Sora in my Smash Bros?!?!?!) but it must be in the right format (mdl0).  Pharrox is working on a converter so we can make models into mdl0s and put them in the game.

Also, I'm happy to announce that the up smash is now fully functional!  Woohoo!  I'll upload the new version and edit the moveset in a moment.

Version 0.2 is now available for download!  The changes include: fixed hitboxes, fixed SFX, a new up and down aerial, and probably some other stuff I forgot about.

Please report any bugs you find.

EDIT: Also, I got an idea for a great Twilight Ganondorf.  Ganon sword codes + Ike and other sword wielders + PSA = Win

No stealing my idea. XP  Although I really go the idea because it was mentioned on smashboards, nobody claimed it though.

EDIT2: Pharrox said that he's gonna post something impressive related to his importer sometime next week.  It's just one awesomeness after another.

It does, the hitbox is on his sword.  Unless you mean extend farther below him, but that would be kinda weird since then he'd have invisible hitboxes of doom.

First hit of neutral A: Little Mac's Jab.
UTilt: Ike's USmash.
DTilt: Link's DTilt
FTilt: Marth's B.

NAir: Ike's NAir. (I may change this in a later version.)
UAir: Captain Falcon's UAir.
DAir: Sheik's UAir.
FAir: Snake's FAir.
BAir: Link's BAir.

USmash: Ike's UTilt.
DSmash: Captain Falcon's DSmash.

But I also got a question: When you give Marth the animations from smaller characters, like Sonic or Toon Link, does the result look like a moveset swap?

Oh, really?  Ok, I'll fix that. Thanks. ^^  I haven't extensively tested him since it's still a beta, so bugs reported are much appreciated.

@Calamitas: Yeah, well, kinda.  If you swap with a character that doesn't have a similar bone structure then it'll look like a moveset swap.  Smaller characters do have a different bone structure so it will.  That's why all of the moves i added are from humanoid characters of around the same height.

EDIT: Kenji, I'm not entirely sure what you mean.  Do you mean that you think it should have a hitbox after it stops spinning but before the move actually ends?  If so, I've fixed that. ^^

EDIT2: I'd like to get some input from you guys.  Do you think I should replace his FAir and/or NAir?  His DAir is a much better spike then his FAir and NAir just isn't really that great.

Oh, that was in the older version.  Did you make sure to download v0.2?  The zip file is called BladeMasterMarth02.  If so, then I accidentally put in an old version.

Oh, ok. Sorry about that.  I'll upload it again after dinner.

EDIT: Alright, I reuploaded it.  This came directly from my SD card, so if something's wrong then my files must be going through some sort of temporal distortion.

EDIT2: I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month, so I probably won't be able to work on this that much until December.

i agree Laharl and his OVERLORDS WRATH though that may be a special or somthing becuse its freakishly strong OR Rozalin(broken seal) that would be cool too... =)
