Yes, this week totally rules for hackers.  Phantom Wings' File Patcher v4 has been released!  It now has the ability to replace sounds and voices.  See the original post for more info. (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=253860)

It's a Beta, won't be added to the thread in News until it's confirmed what it does exactly.

And couldn't it already replace sound effects?

And yeah, thought I'd add this for people who don't visit Smashboards and want to risk using the beta.  Not that it's that risky.

As usual, Phantom Wings is the ****. No more making brstms on your ISO merely for custom sound effects with PSA.

Now here's the problem. Barring the issues with the beta version of the code itself, you're causing your SD to load a huge single file(80mb). Next, since there is currently no way to unpack and repack the brsar(unless Kryal gets to it), we can't replace anything except for the the english, japanese, or European one.

He is and I hope Kryal can! But I think it has to do with BrawlLib. I am putting Kirby's Melee Hi back into place and Falco saying he perfers the ass from Brawl taunts =D

Why would you even need it? It may open the .brsar, but it won't let you do anything to it.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm providing my own voices for this when it becomes possible to do. For some reason, I always wanted to make a pokemon say "Fuckyou!"

I don't really like this code. I mean, you can't have other codes on at the same time, so no Brawl+.

One question: Does this ONLY replace SFX, or does it replace all the other things, too?

I think I may have the mp3's of all of the pokemon cries that I got when I downloaded a Battle Revolution OST.  I'll have to check, cause they're on my dad's computer.  It'd be cool if we could give the Pokemon their cries instead of the voices they gave them.

I wouldn't change the words themselves, I would just make mecha sonic's voice moar metalic. and Giyness's voice much more Giygas-like. ok, maybe I would change what Giyness says as well.

honestly all i heard about V4 is bad things lol so wats so good about it besides replacing sounds when other [censored] doesnt work?

Well, it's still in beta, so it's going to be really glitchy. This isn't meant for casual hackers to use in place of good ol' 3.5.1, it's meant for people with hacking skills to try and find the limits of the code and debug it.
