Title: HD textures for Wii U? Post by: StreetPassWanter on June 21, 2013, 03:38:11 PM Can you use HD textures for Brawl played on Wii U?
Title: Re: HD textures for Wii U? Post by: DoctorFlux(Mariodk) on June 22, 2013, 10:03:29 AM no
wii mode on wii U still use same Ram and any thing as the Wii Title: Re: HD textures for Wii U? Post by: StreetPassWanter on June 22, 2013, 10:56:30 AM But it's upscaled to 1080p on Wii U. It doesn't matter what the Wii can do. At least that's what I would figure could happen.
I would test it, but Riivolution is giving me a headache. Title: Re: HD textures for Wii U? Post by: DoctorFlux(Mariodk) on June 22, 2013, 10:59:30 AM But it's upscaled to 1080p on Wii U. Post by: StupidMarioFan1 on June 22, 2013, 06:59:47 PM Yah it's the not the wii that's the problem, it's the file size of the game disk that's the problem. The Wii and Wii U is programmed do load a certain amount of memory for each different game disk...or that's what I'm guessing because systems are able to load games that are bigger than each other like for instance, Brawl is bigger than Mario Galaxy. The Wii can load more data than Mario Galaxy is programmed with at first, but if you put too much memory into the SMG disk, even though it might still be less than Brawl's size, the game freezes because you're asking it to load more memory than it's supposed to. Same happens on like amost system, even all the way down to classic game systems like the N64. You ask it to load a lot of memory in Super Mario 64, though it might be asking less than say Donkey Kong 64 might be asking, the game still freezes from trying to load too much data.
Hope this might help with understanding why the Wii U can't load more memory for Brawl than the Wii can...though I probably wouldn't be too surprised if this doesn't help at all. I scuk at explaining things. Title: Re: HD textures for Wii U? Post by: libertyernie on July 01, 2013, 07:49:25 AM All Wii games on the Wii U are rendered in 480i or 480p, regardless of whether you have HD enabled or not. Maybe you could use HD textures (Riivolution might help in this regard), but they wouldn't look any better than on a regular Wii.
