Title: I Need Help With the Bones in BrawlBox
Post by: DeriLoko2 on January 18, 2014, 05:45:41 PM
I have BrawlBox (v0.71)

I added the bones, but the character isn't really going with the bones. What should I do?

Nothing is weighted to the bones, you have to rig the model to them.

Add all the bones you want, import the model into 3DS Max, move them to the correct positions, then rig. There are plenty of tutorials on how to do this in the Model Tutorials board.

I don't have 3DS Max, but I have Blender.

You'll need 3DS Max, Blender's format is slightly different and as such won't properly import without being put through 3DS Max first.

Anything similar to 3DS Max?

Does 3DS Max Design has more things than just 3DS Max? Also, does 3DS Max Design work for BrawlBox models, too?

Why exactly can you not use regular 3DS Max, if I may ask?

There's 3DS Max 2014 and it is only available on 64-bit Windows. Are there anything else besides that?

I'm pretty sure 2011 and up is available on both 32 and 64. You are trying to get the student version (http://www.autodesk.com/education/student-software), yes?

A student version? Is that a registered version or an unregistered version?

It's registered. You get it for three years, which is probably more than you'll need, and it's completely legit, which apparently is also important.

If a 3-year license get expired, then what?

Judging by your window, your computer is probably too old. Did you try using the browser installer? If so, try downloading the entire thing (they give you multiple options on the website) and once it's all downloaded, run the installer.

I did use the browser installer. It didn't work.

Try the second thing I mentioned then. Your browser was probably just being funky.

I downloaded the 3DS Max 2013 .exe setup file. I used it and it didn't work. I downloaded the 3DS Max 2012 .exe setup file. Though, that 2012 .exe setup file has over 3 GB. I think the website, no, the ENTIRE website has already been updated for some reason. I think the 3 GB 2012 .exe setup file has everything. The website only has the 6MB 3DS Max 2013 .exe file. And yes, I was downloading the student version.

When you download the installer, do not exit the website. Keep the tab open until it finishes installing.

Hi, i saw that you are using blender, i'm having prolems with mine because when i import the .obj from blender it gets bugged, i don't know how to fix it. I'm making a skin of  a character of League of Legends (Battlecast Cho'Gath) as Bowser. Please, could you make a post to explain all the steps to do it?
