Help / Re: SSBB Hacks on USB not working
November 22, 2012, 04:03:57 AM
i'm having this same problem, but with stages. it works perfectly fine in dolphin, but not on the wii itself. is the wii not powerful enough to load up everything properly or something? i'm trying to make it so that several models don't show up in the game. i have crappy luck with vertex hacking, and the polygon remover didn't work for me. so i decided to extract each texture and make them transparent with paint.net. this also happens whenever i add one thing to the stage, like a sky. works fine in dolphin, but not on the wii.  if anyone could help, it would be really appreciated.

Help / add .rel files to brawl iso = freeze
February 18, 2010, 05:46:59 AM
i have the japanese iso of brawl, the module .rel files worked fine when i tested them out on a sd card (don't ask why don't i just run brawl off of gecko, i like to keep back-ups). when i added them to the iso, the game freezes when i pick the stage. The disk reads, then it just stops. one stage gets the beeeeep. i don't know if it's because of the region of the game or if the NTSC-U .rel files don't work with the japanese brawl .rel files or what, but i just wanna know what can be done to fix this, if there's a way?

Thanks for this, it's my favourite stage and SSE :).

Also, if you do try porting it to another stage, could you change it to Hyrule Temple?

no problem :). i don't know, maybe. i still haven't got the hang of porting stages properly yet, but if you want it on hyrule temple, just replace some stuff using this method http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=253652 (FIRST PAGE), except ef_whatever.pac, in case you don't know how.

oh sorry about that :) thanks to your lost woods stage, i was able to figure out how to finally add platforms to stages and stuff.

this is juice a.k.a. menergy125 (youtube). i think it's about time that i contributed to the hacking scene. i favor stage hacking the most. i also remix some vg music, so feel free to check out my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/menergy125 and give them a listen if you like. anyway.....

Thanks to johnlcb for his lost woods. This one is suppose to be gloomy gulch or any of the haunted forest stages from donkey kong country 2, but with some platforms. it goes over hyrule temple.

The next two i give credit to the ones who created textures for them. i don't remember who.

this is big blue over final destination, with the flying plate from sse

this one is moonlight battle at the summit, but a little different. the platform is not entirely ice. this one goes over final destination too.

BTW, feel free to port them to other stages. i still need to learn more about how to do so properly. i know this page, http://ssbbcustom.wikia.com/wiki/Module_files , tells you how, but for me, it freezes for some stages. i also noticed that final destination seems to be the one that gets ported to other stages alot, and 2d stages based off of final destination. if someone can help me port stages WITHOUT the use of any code what so ever, that would be great.

do you think you can create a midair stadium without the stadium in the background, so that i just get the main platform you fight on? i'm trying to create something.

Ah. That sounds interesting. Are you talking about pokemon stadium? Or the 1st level of SSE?
whichever one you think is easier to do.

you guys wouldn't happen to know how to port one stage to another stage, or if there's a tutorial on how to do this? i know it sometimes uses stage modules and what not. i can't seem to find anything on this.

Complete removal of polygons. The platforms are no longer tangible.

that's pretty awesome. i hope there will be a good guide or tutorial on how to do this in the future :)

Well, with how awkwardly terrible this news has been received, I wouldn't expect a tutorial. Ever.
aaawww. oh well
