I've been trying to get BrawlEx to work; followed all the steps and yet the added character doesn't appear. I believe this is because I'm using a PAL Wii and I need a .gct file that supports that format. So, instead of RSBP01.gct, I need an RSBP01.gct that is compatible with BrawlEx. Any ideas?

If it helps you any, there is actually a download on the website that has a PAL version of the CSS with no character replacements as well as being able to select Shiek, Zero Suit Samus and all the Pokemon Trainer's individual pokemon.

Hello.
I am having problems getting in-game battle portraits to work. CSPs work fine, as well as SSPs, but in-game battle portraits just don't want to work.
I am putting the files into the info/portrite folder as instructed in multiple tutorials, but to no avail. I was able to find a download that offered all the .brres, but after editing them, it just ends with the game freezing.
I'm using a PAL copy of the game and use Riivolution to load mods.
Any help to this query would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not sure where to check that, but I'd like to think that if my game disc is PAL and because I'm using the RSBP folder name.

From the tutorials I have read and seen, I have seen that people like me who use Riivolution say that you shouldn't use a sc_selectcharacter.pac when modding.
I should also add that I didn't get a sc_selectcharacter.pac in the folders I was given, so how can I replace something that isn't even there?

EDIT: I managed to get it working! I just exported the selectcharacter.pac file form the common5_en and placed it into the menu2 folder. Thank you very much for your answers, they were a big help!

After the effort of finding character models and putting them in Brawl, I'd now want to put in custom CSP to avoid confusion in the future. Much to my dismay... I am unable to do so.

I did all the steps followed in numerous tutorials on the subject: I re-sized the file to 128x160 and even indexed the colour of the image as mentioned in a video tutorial. I used the common5_en file (since I use Riivolution and a PAL English copy of the game), found the file and replaced it with no issues. Saved it and then... it doesn't show up in the game.

I don't know if it's an issue regarding where I placed my common5_en file or something else entierly. The file is located here: X/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/system . I also have files called module, menu and menu2 as well as having pfmenu2 and st in the RSBP folder.

Any assistance you give to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

I recently started adding new character textures and I'm loving the creative, talented work that you guys are putting out there for the community! Though it isn't all sunshine and rainbows for me regarding another section; that being the stages.

No matter what stage I download and put into stages/melee folder, the end result always ends up freezing my game and having to reset. This even applies to stages that have an .rel file included.
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing wrong! I change the names to the ones listed and when an .rel file is used, the .pac file is the same except for the STG part.

If it helps you, I'm using a PAL version of the game from England, and use Riivolution 1.04 to run the game.
Any support to this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.
