Holy moly there's nobody in this thread anymore.

Bummer. More than half of these I'm willing to download.

I also have portraits for the mirage ike and a secondary with a white cape if anyone's interested.

Lol sup nerds. As I've gotten more mature, so has my understanding of how colors can work together. This rob is bad, like, very bad lol. Atm, I don't have the necessary tools to work on him, maybe later.

Also I'll be more professional my writing/typing when it's not the 4th. Happy independence day!

eww gross.

after looking at the costume in-game, the purple needs to be shifted back towards blue and desaturated, and The gold needs to be desaturated as well.

I was going for a "mixes well with each other" type look, but this needs more of a "contrasts well with each other" touch. it looks gross atm.

hey guess what? I was serious.

Changelog:

I shifted the purple more towards red to better blend in with the gold.

Guys. I promise I haven't forgotten about this project.

The deal is that I need to get a laptop charger because I lost mine.
I'm still passionate about this project.

I respect you taiko. I respect you a lot.
I apologize if I came across as immature.

I'll mention again that my suggestions will be for purple costumes, not for mirage, so you guys may disagree.

Toon Link:
Use the current "alt" with the purple tunic as the main, and change the sleeves to a lighter, more desaturated version of the purple, like the pants on it. Next, change the pants back to beige, sine the only ones that change colour are a very specific reference to something.
That's all I'd suggest for Toon Link.

TAIKO, NOOOOO!!! You're breakin meh heart!!! :'( :'( :'( :'(
That would make tink a modified vBrawl.           :'( :'( :'( :'(
I disagree with that, but I don't want to disregard it. Whichever is whatever, I guess.

I will say this though: do what Taiko suggests, but keep the "alt". I like it too much.

ROB:
Do not do Gamecube ROB. I made that mistake before. It just does not lend well to ROB's design. I'd say what you have right now is pretty good, possibly try lightening the purple up and desaturate it, though. vBrawl's blue should be a good reference of how to divide up the colours.

Okay, I'll get right on on that.

I'm glad this has picked up again. If it hadn't, I was legitimately gonna do the remaining characters myself.

I think you should wait to release it.
I really wish Xenozoa425 checked this thread, but alas, he is busy with the smash 3 project.
Taiko, second thoughts?

as for yoshi: he's too blue. shift his main color towards purple, but not by much. Change the color of the saddle and shoes. I could be wrong, but I believe that he's under-saturated atm.

I tend to go more "default style" and think of palettes that work for the character specifically.

that's a really good skill to have, since character's like snake, ROB, olimar, and ICs, have something close to that.

Speaking of whom:

while I like this color scheme, I would rather base him on the purple gamecube. any ideas?

Edit: upon first glance, I should probably shift the colors towards blue slightly and tone down the saturation....

Here's Mirage Toon Link v2:

(Just need to get ingame pictures, then I'm done)

I like them both, and now I can't decide which one I want  :srs:

I'm okay wtih the release, but taiko and xeno are very important members of this project and they might disagree with me. (making xeno happy is kinda hard, which is great.)

My suggestion would be to do a purple tunic + hat and have the sleeves be a lighter version of the same colour.

                                                                                                      ^^^^
Project M already has that kind of costume. right---------------here

not sure what other kind of ideas can come from that description and still be original without just bein the same as the default brawl purple. What I would take from it is have the sleeves be purple, and the hat + tunic be a darker version of that purple. Is that what you meant?

Brighten up the white only a tad.
Also as an alt, try swapping the colors of the tunic and hat with the sleeves.

Personally, I like it. Taiko, Xeno, what do you guys think?

I would suggest in game previews first.

I can't speak for everyone when I answer this, but I can tell you how I do it.

for every character I wish to make a brawl styled CSP for, I have the original brawl CSP (you can find all of them in the data partition under the resources tab at the top) and I cut it into layers.

let's take Mario for example, since he is one of the easier characters:

I have a layer for the gloves, a layer for the shirt and hat, a layer for the overalls, a layer for his shoes, and a layer for the default CSP on the bottom.

lets say I wanted to change the color of his shirt and hat; I would select that layer, and change it's color. Since the only thing in that layer is his shirt and hat, that would be the only thing to change color.

It seems that anytime I don't post, nobody does. What can we do to fix that? Maybe if this thread had more exposure, everyone would be a bit more motivated.

Tell you what, I will continue where I left off before my R&R for finishing ike, and I'll post a thread on smashboards to further publicize the project. I will also be continuing my work on the following characters:

Mirage Ganondorf
Mirage Rob
Mirage Olimar
Mirage Ice Climbers

I've already made some adjustments to my Project M and I really like most of these.
I have mirage Roy, Ike, Falco, Fox, Samus, Zamus, Zelda, and Sheik.
Will be adding Wolf, Link, OOT Link, Mario, Doc, and Falcon as soon as I figure out how to use the darn cBliss tool to work.             :notimp:
the biggest problem with that is most of these costumes don't have CSPs. The only ones I could find were Xenozoa's brawl CSPs, and SJS's CSPs. Xeno makes CSPs for any and every costume he makes, and SJS makes CSPs if he's asked and when he has time. Do we have any other SCP makers that are willing to chip in and make their own CSPs for the project?

@Xenozoa425 would you be willing to help make brawl CSPs for the project as well?

If I have to make a fourth post in a row, it will be a serious megapost.  :srs:

Edit: how do you guys like the new OP?

Edit2: so i smashboards'd us
