1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: NEW PREVIEW ALREADY?! - br3compactor's ambitious Projects on: September 15, 2014, 12:04:47 PM
The Top Gear stage looks great! I love the talking stereo and the ropes add a nice touch to the stage. I was secretly hoping to see a few cars driving by in the background but I can't have it all I guess Tongue Anyway, this is going right onto my sd card.

Actually that video is a bad example because he isn't using Project M, that explains why he still has all of his characters. I don't think there's anything you can do. The P:M developers refuse to let you add or remove codes, so you can either play without those characters or play regular Brawl (with your own hacks) or other Brawl mods.

Thank you! And take as much time as you need to finish your PSA.

Could you re-upload Sonic's Final Smash? DL link seems to be broken Undecided

Well it's unlikely that any of those options would brick your Wii, but Smash Stack is the easiest so I'd go with that. As for backing up your stages, you're right. First move the stages to your SD card and then back up everything.

The which is safer question applies to point 2 as well. 2.C seems the simpler one (and therefore the least likely to screw up on my part) but for all I know it could be the one that does the most tinkering with the Wii's system.
You don't have to worry about that, after you've installed the Homebrew Channel everything is completely safe. I'd recommend going with 2.A because it's easier but if that doesn't work I got a link to a nice Riivolution tutorial that's specifically made for PAL users (it works I tried it myself). Also 2.C is optional, you don't really need it to load hacks. It's a useful app though.

Lastly, I've heard that a method has been found to get modified stages without having to replace the regular ones (but sadly no such things for the characters as of yet, is there?), do I have to pick determined options to do that? (Like say, if it requires the Homebrew Browser I'd have to go with 1.A and 2.C, if it needed just the HB Channel it would mean mandatory 1.A but any option for step 2...)
You need a certain code to do that, but it's made for the NTSC version of the game and I have no idea if it's been ported to PAL.

Ah and I almost forgot. This again is just a curiosity: can you tell me where to find a list of the apps and functionalities that I won't be able to use because of my firware version?
I don't know about this, I got characters, stages and music to work on the PAL version with Riivolution but I haven't tried the more complicated stuff like sound effects and custom menus. I guess you'll have to find that out yourself. It's a shame that there aren't any experienced PAL users replying to your thread.

The least you'll have to do is install the Homebrew Channel, choose the app you want to use to load your hacks and get the codes and the hacks that you want. Don't worry, you don't have to buy anything and you don't have to downgrade your Wii. I suggest you read this tutorial. Only the PAL file patch code on that page is outdated, the latest version can be found here. There's one thing I have to say though: for some reason the PAL file patch code didn't work for me so I got the NTSC version of the game to avoid any complications. You could still try the Riivolution method if Gecko doesn't work for you. If you got any anymore questions I'll be happy to answer them Smiley

I don't what your friends are doing but you can get hacks without the SD patcher option. As long as you have the SD cheats option turned on all your hacks will work.

Oh and you posted in the wrong section of the forum, this belongs in the help section, not the tutorial section.

Yeah, pretty much.

Use Savegame Manager (homebrew app) to extract your savegames to your SD card. Then put your SD card with the savegames in the other Wii and run Savegame Manager again to install your savegames. Not that hard really Smiley
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Diedhammer98's hacks. I don't know If I may or not may continue work on hacks. on: August 14, 2011, 01:34:55 PM
If you're not interested or don't like Brawl hacking anymore, then you should stop. There is only 1 thing you must always remember: BRAWL HACKING IS A HOBBY. And hobbys are supposed to be fun. If you're getting angry and upset then something is wrong. Just ask yourself, do you still want to do this? Take some time off to think and get some good night sleep. When you're ready, come back and give us your answer. That's pretty much all the advice I can give you.

But even if you decide to stop Brawl hacking, you don't have to leave the forum. Just stick around in the Off-topic section and chat with us Smiley
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: how can I apply hacks to usb loaded games? on: July 18, 2011, 04:45:57 PM
Code:
RSB?01:
codeliststart = 80570000
codelistend = 80580000
poke(800042B8, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E9930, 4BFECA1D, 803E9930, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E99A8, 4BFECA1D, 803E99A8, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E9D5C, 4BFECA1D, 803E9D5C, 60000000)

Copy/paste this into notepad, save it as gameconfig.txt and put it in the root of your SD card. That is all.

This great, as usual lol. Just a little note/feedback:

I like the pivot punch when you do a backwards grab while running, but there are times Sephy's arm goes right through the opponent without hitting him because he is too close. Just move the hitbox a little bit closer to him so he can hit opponents right in front of him.

About his Up-B (Flight): I just noticed that the grounded version is cancellable, but the aerial version isn't. Was this intended? Just wondering, that is all.
13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: SaveGame Manager GX? on: July 13, 2011, 03:32:47 PM
It's not a dangerous app, the warning is there because it changes your Wii's NAND, which is in fact the internal memory. Because the app only affects your savegames (stored in the Wii's memory), it will never brick your Wii. The worst thing that could happen is corrupted savefiles. But like Yoshi said, it's never a bad thing to have some form of brick protection Smiley
14  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Wii System Menu 4.3 (HBC Updated!) on: June 30, 2011, 06:41:46 PM
The OP should note that if someone insists on updating, they should install the latest homebrew channel BEFORE updating their Wii, because updates don't affect the latest HBC.

CleanRip or any Usb loader allows you to rip isos from game discs.
