1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Alucard (Symphony of the NIght) V1.0 on: July 03, 2010, 04:30:46 AM
The ranged moves are too quick, making him almost unapproachable when played by an experienced player, I would slow those down a bit or mod them in some way. Not so much recovery time after using the moves would be great.

His final smash shouldn't be able to be used in the air. It is insanely quick and kills instantly, so I think the best way to balance that would be making it unusable in the air so the player actually has a chance to live.

Tilt B needs a bit of a recovery/cooldown time, as it is easily spammed and can be used a bit too effectively to be balanced with other characters. Sure someone like Cloud could fend him off alright, but you place him verses any real character and that real character will most likely get his butt kicked.

From what I get playing against him:
Alucard is best on flat courses because of his insane mid/far range ability. On a course like final destination, it is really easy to kill your opponent with B or Down B after knocking them off the edge at a lower damage.
On courses like Norfair, where it's mostly aerial, Alucard isn't as strong, though his B in air spike does quite a good job. It's on courses like these that I find Alucard to be the most balanced with other characters, as he is more approachable.

Anyway, good start. I can't wait for v1.1

Once again, nice work bro. Can't wait to see the reaction you get.

@polaris
I would be willing to help you with your moveset, I am currently available as far as hacking goes. What I need is a very specific list of every move you want edited and how you want them to be changed. If you do this, PM me so that we dont get to terribly off topic on this thread. Please be as specific as possible, If you do, the results will match your ideas much better

@Dotz
Thanks, I didn't know till recently that THAT'S what float variables are used for. Yea, the aura was a good idea, but I didn't want to throw that in there in the last minuet. I am going to make a moveset for ness after I do polaris's, so you'll see some sweet aura in that moveset i'm sure.

So, Any glitches with 1.2?

Down B is kinda glitchy. I don't get what it hits, and using it in air is a bit funky. A good concept though.

wait, side smash, or side B? if side smash, then NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! if side B, then alright.

The side smash is almost the same thing. It's slightly slower, but it has a bit more power. He changed the graphics on it more than anything else, you won't miss the old one, I promise.

@Everyone who gets it glitching out:

Oftentimes with homebrew applications, any external devices plugged in can and will freeze random applications. Try removing any gamecube memory cards or usb plugins, also wireless controllers tend to glitch out the games as well. If you can, try using a wired controller.

Found your texture, and I love the symbol on the shirt. If there was some way to combine that into a hooded Robe, that'd be the sexiest thing evar.

It's on stack smash. they have tons of textures you can't find anywhere else... unfortunately due to their random host switch, the pictures are gone.

You should totally upload a picture for me, if you still have it.

And not the place to discuss this, Ben. For now, I do textures.

I don't really have the pictures on me right now. I should be able to get them when I'm done being lazy.

No rush. If you don't want to do it, you don't have to. =P

I think this would work better with my Giygas lucas. the robe looks a bit too... robey. idk, I'm rarely completely satisfied with anything, so don't worry about it.

I'd like to see this, could you point me to it? I can't seem to find it.

Oh, and by the way, the guy who made this is 13. Freakin genius.

The texture is actually a vertex hack as well. He made multiple robes for it, and the main one, which actually is over the blue-shirted lucas, is just black. Over normal lucas is a green/gray robe. Both have a simple stripe in the hair. Very plain robes.

Awesome moveset Bro. Loved watching this thing grow.
