I managed to test some things with the help of my friends. My Wii can't read disks, so I just now downloaded Riivolution to use on my friend's Wii. Since my hacks are in folders, I borrowed another friend's hacks via his ssbb folder. Using my SD, one friend's Riivolution and hacks, and andother friend's Wii, we successfully played Brawl with hacks without amy problems. I suspect it may have to do with the way Riivolution loads hacks, I'd use it if I could. Then I tranferred my hacks to my friend's SD and used USB Loader like I usually do. For some reason, the game would always freeze when we tried to pick a stage, so no battles took place. Could it be a problem with my hacks, or a difference in SD format? Putting everything back to normal, my friend's hacks work as they always did on his SD and our other friend's Wii, while my hacks worked on my Wii, but still unloaded themselves eventually. Where could the problem truly lie? I'd need to get a new SD of my own to know for sure.
It probably is an SD problem. In mid-battle, the song (Zinnia's theme) reverted to it's original theme (Battlefield). Then it switched back to Zinnia's theme, then back to Battlefield at random intervals. T'was pretty freaky. While I'm looking for another 2gig SD, I'd love to learn more about the possibility of higher ones being usable. I heard Riivolution can do that, but I don't have a physical copy of Brawl. (the whole reason I hacked my Wii is 'cause the disk drive stopped working.) It's strange though, I never had a problem with this SD on anything else I used it for. The lock thingie in firm and always unlocked, and it still isn't giving me problems on anything but Brawl.
Thanks, so it's likely an SD problem and not a hack problem? I'll have to try to find another to test. What's the highest amount of gigs an SD can have that still works for Brawl hacks? I actually do have an 8 gig SD but that won't work for Brawl.
First off, what little information I have is very vague, so I apologize in advance. I'm currently facing a bizarre situation, often the brawl hacks are...unloaded, turned off, deactivated, in the middle of the game. It's as if the SD's been removed. Before I go into my situation, I think it's most effective to just ask: Has this ever happened to anyone before? What are the conditions that could cause it? Can it be fixed?
What's interesting is that nothing specific really started the problem. It's been almost a year since since I've played Brawl, and I've been using the same SD for other things, like my 3DS. Back then, I didn't have this problem. As far as I know, the hacks haven't been touched in all that time. It's only now that I decided to play again that this problem started occurring. I never had any other kinds of issues with the SD. Since the hacks I had were old and disorganized anyway, I decided to wipe the slate and start anew. I re-downloaded some of the hacks I had, ditched some, and downloaded many new ones. I realize now that I should've tested Brawl every time I would add a thing, but instead, I implemented everything at once, so it's hard to track the source. I added in custom stages, characters, music, and items, and modified the CSS. I haven't edited anything else. These are the codes I have loaded:
