The air dodge in PM is like Melee, where you can only dodge once and once you dodge you enter helpless state.
It's supposed to encourage more Melee-like play, and let you wavedash, but I prefer an actual dodge over edgy wavedashes. It's useless as a dodge right now.
I'm used to Smash 4 and Brawl's air dodge.

well, if thats the case, I just need to know what the code is and I'll find it.
any help would be appreciated.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Can I get Brawl air dodges in Project M? on: May 27, 2017, 06:07:09 PM
Once again with the help forum post.
I pretty much gave up trying to mod normal Brawl. I managed to get most of what I wanted done on Project M, via it's PM iso builder and such.
I like PM well enough, I love how fast it is, how fluid it feels.
But I HATE the "Melee Style" air dodge.
Oh, whats that? you got hit off the stage even a little bit?
well, good thing you can't dodge any attacks now. (Without going into helpless and dying anyway)
I don't care what people say about it "speeding up" the pace or letting you do your edgy Melee wavedashes.
It's ineffective as a dodge, and with the recovery nerfs already at play in PM, I feel like its too ineffective. I'm used to Smash 4 and Brawl's air dodges, where I actually have a chance to recover from being thrown off stage.

So, anyway, that aside I'd just like a code that would go into the RSBE01 gct or something that would just make the air dodges into brawl's.
I'm running the 3.6 netplay iso version of PM, if that helps.
sorry for my rant above, I'm mildly annoyed because I saw other people asking the same thing on different forums and people just told them that melee air dodge is better and to deal with it.
Just point me to where I can find such a taboo code, what I do with it is my own business.
or maybe tell me what codes to delete in the gct or something to give me back the air dodge. I don't really care.

thanks in advance.

alright, well, thanks for your time. I still can't get it to load from normal brawl, but I can from Project M.
If you're into Project M, can you tell me where to get the hybrid air dodge/brawl air dodge code?
The only reason I was avoiding Project M is that I hate the air dodge mechanic they implemented, and I highly prefer the normal Brawl air dodge.
using the Project M iso builder, I can get new skins and maybe even characters to work (haven't tried characters as of yet) and my only complaint is the air dodge.

I got a virtual sd card maker, and I can check to see if its SDHC. How would I know if it's a problem with the codes? I copy and pasted the ones they provided in that tutorial and then converted it into a RSBE01 gct file. Are there any other codes I should have to load mods?
Also, the sd card did load the extra slots codes, but not the files to make the extra slots; I had extra blank slots on the css for every character's costumes, but none of the costumes I was trying to load. Could it still be a problem with my virtual sd card?
I would use my wii, but it got a problem where it won't load any disc based games.

I have followed that tutorial, but I still cannot get mods to load via sd card. Gecko, on Dolphin, does recognize the sd card, and even loads the RSBE01 file. But I can't get it to load any replacement files. I know how to go into the ISO and replace things, but I want to just be able to put it on the sd card and load it like it says. But, even though it recognizes the sd card, and gecko loads RSBE01, it won't load any pcs or pac files, or anything else really.
I decided to try just replacing a skin via sd loading to start, so I followed that tutorial and it still didn't work. I put the RSBE01 into the codes folder, and the snake replacement skin into the folder in pf/fighter/snake, I have boot.elf on the root (even though I don't need it thanks to Dolphin) and I still can't get it to load the files at all.

Well, I just started getting into Brawl modding literally three days ago from the time of this post.
In this time, I've spent hours watching and reading tutorial videos.
To start, I HAVE done model/texture replacements, and I know how to change CSP's and BP's and such using Wiiscrubber and BrawlBox. I followed a very handy tutorial video and used their example file to figure this out. However, I cannot find any clear and mildly simplistic tutorials on how to do certain actions.
Mind you, I am running this on Dolphin Emulator, as my Wii no longer functions, and I know how to boot Gecko OS, I just haven't gotten anything to work with Gecko.
The things I'm looking to do are:

1. How to ADD NEW skin slots and CSP's, instead of just replacing them. I have Brawl Box and Wiiscrubber, is that all I need to do this? Will I need Gecko to use them, or can I directly mod the ISO as I did to get the skin and CSP?

2. Add completely NEW characters. I understand this is possible, albeit with the clone generator. I do have BrawlEx, and I believe all of its related tools, I just don't understand how to use them. In particular, I was interested in adding Cloud as a test, and I haven't gotten it to work yet. I'll link the exact file if need be. They're called PSA's, if what I've read is true. What tools will I need to semi-easily do this? Will this also require Gecko, or can I just directly mod the ISO? I know almost nothing about this, so treat me like an idiot when it comes to this.

3. Add completely new stages. I think I understand how to replace them,  but I'd like to know how to add more. Assume I'm stupid on this topic too.

I don't expect anyone to sit down with me and explain everything, but if someone could point me to some tutorials for these things please do. I've read the tutorials "For Noobs" on these threads, and they didn't help much.
To recap, I have BrawlEx, BrawlBox, WiiScrubber, an SDcard maker, Gecko, BrawlBuilder, and as many ISO's of brawl as I need. You can reach me at my email if you don't want to deal with the thread reply stuff.

All I want are pointers to tutorials to help me, or direct help if someone is willing. Once I get the information, I'd like to help others who need it as well.

On another side note, I'm not interested in downloading a pack (such as PM or Infinite) as these tutorials are everywhere. I like Brawl's balancing and such as it is, I'd just like to edit the characters and stages, and maybe add a handful of new characters.

Thanks in advance, and sorry this post is so long. I'm not used to thread boards like this Tongue
