1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Brawl Beta: Regarding the Unused Music Tracks on: October 21, 2012, 12:38:59 AM
As we know Brawl has a lot of unused music files in the game that are now empty but still have a place to hold them.

You think it would be possible to use what these music files were gonna be and put something else in their place?

This would be nice for the Victory Themes since all the characters were gonna have a unique victory theme, but in the end, MK only got that honor.

You think it is possible to use these unused tracks for anything? I mean they are just empty files sitting in the game.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / BrawlBox Problem on: October 20, 2012, 03:14:06 PM
EDIT: Nvm used Brawlbox 0.66b and it saved fine. Cheesy

Okay so I decided to try PW's Stage Expansion Hack.

I did everything right. What with the codes need to get it and everything appeared on the game, the empty stages that I can use for custom stages and what not.

Brawlbox doesn't wanna save when I try to change any of the stuff that is in the sc_selmap_en for common5.pac. I was able to save things in the sc_selcharacter.pac fine but I keep getting this error when I attempt to save any changes that were done in sc_selmap.

"The given key was not found in the dictionary."

I have no idea why its doing this. All I am doing is placing in the icons, stage preview, game of origin logo, that stuff for the stages I wanna use. But everytime I do that and try to save, that pops up and and I have no idea why it would do that. I am using SSPs made by others for the stages I am using so I don't think there should be any reason this error is popping up.

Someone, please tell me. What should I do to get Brawlbox to save? I am using the latest version and what not and I read some threads on here that people used older versions who got the same error and said it worked after that.

They are suppose to be 64x56 so yes they are the right size. And no I am not using the Stage Expansion and they are in PNG format
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Stage Select doesn't show icons on: October 19, 2012, 06:36:42 PM
Okay I  been putting stuff into Brawl for a bit now. I finally get around to trying to see if it all works. When I go to the stage select screen, none of the icons show up. First they are just white blocks and when I hover over them, the name of the current stage shows up in their places. I don't know why its doing this. I mean I have copied all the files from the sc_selmap and placed them in the common5 file and vice versa.

Someone tell me what I might have done wrong? Cuz all I did was replace 4 stages with the custom icons, preview portraits and the name of the stage and that was it.

5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Riivolution Black Screen on: June 14, 2011, 08:20:41 PM
Well I took out the whole Private folder and the game loaded so I know Riiv isn't the problem, now I'm just gonna use the ShadowOverDK hack and keep some of the songs and that on there and see what happens. I'm gonna try to eliminate the problem one step at a time

Okay I found the reason. Its the sound folder. Either I have too many songs for Riivolution to handle, or maybe because I did the whole edit for the SFX file wrong and it caused it to crash at loadup.

Last Edit: XD It turns out it was the smashbros_sounds file used for SFX. I must have edited it wrong so all I got to do is redo it XD

I'll try that then

Okay I tried it still doesn't work.

Does my common5.pac file have to be a certain size? Because my info file is at 490 KB so that can't be the problem so I'm guessing its the common5. Does it have to be a certain size?

I have all that done, but it still gives me a Black Screen, I just don't know what could be the problem. Do you think the amount of texture and stage hacks I have could be the issue?

Two things:

1. Are GCTs needed for them to work.

2. How do I know if the Textures will load. Like the other templates I used, it shows if you want to enable Textures and all that. It didn't show any of that, just Ocarina Codes and Hooktype.

Plus I did all that, still get a Black Screen .-.

thats what I mean, Idk how to backup stuff

I think you need to use Wii Scrubber, though I never used it so I don't know how. But thats how people extract data for the ISO for a game I think

What do you mean a proper .xml code? Can't we just use the one that BeyondYou provided us with?

Okay well it solved my problem with the freezing on Riivo screen when loading but I did everything the instructions said, I still get a black screen and my Wiimote turns off. I added a GCT with other codes and no FPC but still nothing.

whats a usb loader?

USB Loader is a application used to play Wii ISOs through your USB drive. You have format your USB thumbdrive into a format so that the Wii can read it and your able to load your Wii Backups from it. You can also use it to load DVDs that you burned your backups too, I think, I haven't used it in awhile but here is the site for more info.

But yus, I'm just gonna give up on the Riivolution, seriously I tried everything from removing certain files, to deleting Riivolution and reinstall it on Wii. I mean EVERYTHING, nothing works. They better come up with an update for 1.05 soon or I will go nutz. Or Update FPC to 3.5.2 cuz this is lubricious!

I dun get it, Riivolution didn't crash on me at all, it happened after I was replacing this one Samus/ZSuitSamus hack where she was the SA-X after I tried Riivolution again, thats when it stopped working. I even had the FPC enabled and it never frozed up on me
