1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: --> Brawl Hacks with Backup Brings a Bad Burden <-- on: January 13, 2011, 10:04:13 AM
*bump*  Im srs here
I hope you guys are up for a new challenge.  :l

RECAP:
I'm booting Brawl from a HardDrive. I want to apply hacks to it. I have every possible file that I need, precisely placed. I boot Brawl with Wiiflow (with Ocarina on I assure you), no difference.  MSNG (I wish I knew what it stands for. :O ) suggests that I switch IOS (tried 222, 223, 249).
AND SO I DID…  *GASP!*  O_o

Results: No textures or any kind of hacks (apart from a few characters that switched places on the CSS). The problem appears to be that the USBLoaders don’t want to load the “File Patch Code” in the GTC file. Tried with Wiiflow & USBLoader GX (the latest one, which is like 4 days old, and clearly says it supports Brawl+).  -_-;

Question: What can I possibly do now to load textures while booting Brawl from a USB loader?
Thankz anywayz guyz. ^_^

WELL, that pretty much sums everything up. With both cIOS's already installed, I suppose the only thing left to do is to switch to it before playing.   >.<

BY GOLLY I guess it's a good thing that you can use Wiiflow, because that's the one that I also used (I only mentioned USBLoaderGX 'cause I thought people had more luck with it).

And to top it off, I also use a NTSF HardDrive.

Guess I should get maximum results when I try this later. Thanks!

High five if you clicked on this thread because of the name! XD

YA, so my Wii's drive finally kicked the bucket, meaning I can't play actual "disc" games anymore. Luckily, I had a HardDrive with everything backed up, so that's no problem.

HOWEVER, I knew back then that loading hacks with a Brawl Disc was far easier than playing it from a HardDrive, for obvious reasons. It worked fine with Riivolution, but the minute I switched to USBLoaderGX (with Ocarina on, I assure you), the hacks stopped working, just as I suspected.  >_>

The hacks, RSBE01 Gtc. file, GameConfig txt. file and the whole kit have been left untouched, so it's without a doubt that THAT's not the source of the problem (considering I just JUST loaded textures perfectly while using the disc).   -_-"
SO, you guys probably can guess my question by now. "How to load hacks while playing Brawl from a HardDrive?"

It would be preferable to have direct answers with no "obvious" questions like "WHATS YOUR CIOS?" or "DIDNT YOU CHECK THIS SITE BE4 POSTING THIS?". The first question doesn't really matter 'cause it worked a few hours ago, and as for the second question, people just seem to be too vague at answering my obvious question. I've heard people using this "Snapshot method" but I have no idea if it actually works (AKA Im pretty much lazy; you guys tell me about it. Awesome Face

WELL THEN, Im gonna go get some shut eye. It would be nice to have some answers by tomorrow, even if it's nonsense answers (just to show that my question is kicking around). THANKS EVERYBODAY.

Hmm... Interesting. Never heard about that "Gameconfig.txt" thing before. Suppose Ill give it a whirl later.   :)

As for you LordNOah, my RSBE01.gct file named correctly (I'm not that much of a NoOb   :P) .

I must say, thanks guys. Closer towards the solution, the better.

YUP. THAT'S RIGHT! I signed up just for a question.
No need to introduce myself and all that chit-chat, just need a simple answer to some simple questions.   :O

So today, I said to myself "Today would be a great day to learn how to texture hack Brawlz".
And so I did.

I CAREFULLY followed (notice how I said carefully =D ) the The Complete N00B's Guide to Brawl Hacking as well as some stuff on this link ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=5.0 ) and set up my SD card like everyone else:

SD CARD ROOT FOLDERS:
- Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\fighter\(Character Name)\ Texturez
- Codez (with the File Patch Code v3.5.1A)
- Apps (with USB Gecko 9.3, with "SD card cheats activated".)

And here's the problem (that probably has been answered somewhere, somehow before):
Zee textures will not show.

- I KNOW all the folders are placed and named appropriately
-  Textures are named "Fitcharacter00.pcs"
- A Wii 4.2 U version (if it helps)

SO

If anyone has a solution to my  rather simple problem (  I know they do =)  ), I happily await an answer.
It would be nice to start texture hacking as soon as possible.

Another question that I'm absolutely stumped on:
What the difference between ".pcs" and ".pac" texturez?

Thanks everyone  Awesome Face
