If I may ask, how do you port a character over another?

Once you've downloaded a hack, is there a way to make it so that the hack can co-exist along with the character it goes over? In other wards, how do you make your character selection screen look like this:

I tried that, and it still doesn't work. Just gives me the beep of death...

I just tried it in multiplayer and it did the same thing...

I did try it on an un-hacked stage :V

Well, my friend gave me all of the steps I needed to be able to use the downloads on this site and actually be able to play as them in-game. I did everything he said. I downloaded the "CoN Uzumaki Naruto v2", extracted the files, and put all of them except "CSPs" in the Ike folder. I then put my SD card in the wii, started up the Homebrew Channel, selected Ike, chose the stage, and when I hit enter, it gave me the evil beep of death. I've tried this several times and every time it gives me the evil beep of death... Does the hack only work in Group mode or something?

I'll help

first off, you need Homebrew (HB) if you don't already have it,
next you need Gecko (this loads the game with codes)

if you already have those, then you have to set up your SD
I have a hacked-brawl GCT I can lend (normal brawl with hacks)
or you can DL a modded brawl GCT suchas B-, B+, BB, or vB
^my fav's Brawl- ^_^

anyways, those go in SD:/codes
next is the files,
these go in specific directories contained in SD:/wii/app/private/RSBE/pf/
(except for pfmenu2 which stays in RSBE)

char-hacks go in '.../fighter/*char*/'
stages go in '.../stage/melee/'
music goes in '.../sound/strm'

there's more, but I can't fully recall them... :/

I need all of this on my computer or on my wii?

As you can see, I'm a newb. I'm brand new to hacking and I have a question.

My Question:
Once you download a hack on the computer, how are you supposed to use it on the wii?


As you can see, I'm very confused, and I'd be extremely grateful if somebody could answer my above question.
