16  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Need Peach Help - How can I make her hold her Tennis Racket Constantly? on: April 20, 2011, 01:45:23 PM
I can't remember how to do it in PSA, but it is easy to make her perma-hold the racket with a costume slot.

Yeah, the tennis racket thing is easy in PSA.

x.x XD well, Im certainly glad its possible, and I thank you for sharing.... but how exactly do I go about doing it (assume I know nothing about PSA.... pretty much true... but I'm a quick learner and have already made a custom pose on the results screen for when she loses a match).
17  Help & Tutorials / Help / Need Peach Help - How can I make her hold her Tennis Racket Constantly? on: April 20, 2011, 04:08:43 AM
Dear KC,

I am trying to make a custom moveset for Peach.  The new moveset idea is that she can hold her tennis racket constantly and not just use it on her forward smash (doesn't have to be tennis racked, I'll settle for one of her other two forward smash items too).

In addition I am wondering if I will have to modify hitboxes (something I have no clue how to do)... the items have hitboxes on the forward smashes but I don't know if the hitboxes would remain if I were to give her the racked all the time (for regular attacks).

......oh.... and if someone knows, can I change her turnips or Toad to something else... I dunno... like a mini mario or something?
18  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Stage Hack Help - Changing Death Bounderies on: April 17, 2011, 09:33:55 PM
Ok, I've found the Dead0N and Dead1N in the StagePosition section using both brawlbox and brawlwall.  I'm still having a bit of trouble though.

In Brawlwall I can change the death boundaries but when I save it it saves the entire stage and not just the Dead0N and Dead1N and its not in a pac format... I can't seem to figure out how to use it once its saved.

In Brawlbox I can locate the boundaries very easily but I can't seem to change them at all!!!

Anyone have any insight on this?

Thank you msp26.

Adding collisions works great now that I know how XD.

As for brawlwall.... XD downloaded it and can't figure out how to do anything in it... ah well that's how it was with brawlbox too.  I'm a very 'hands-on' learner so I'll stumble my way around brawlwall for a while and see what I can't accidentally learn (of course I could find myself a tutorial too XD).

     Thanks again ^.^

20  Help & Tutorials / Help / Stage Hack Help - Changing Death Bounderies [Nvm - Figured it out - SOLVED] on: April 16, 2011, 04:11:39 AM
Dear CK forumers,

I need to know how to change the 'out of bounds' areas of a stage.  There are a few stages I want to do this with but for example:  Green Hill Zone is a little small for my tastes and I would like to extend it left and right so that players could play on a larger stage.

I don't know much about hacking and I only have Brawl Box and Smash Attacks.  I've opened Green Hill Zone in Brawl Box and managed to figure out how to expand the areas the characters can walk on, but I don't know how to add more of the blue tiles that make the stage walkable (and knowing how to do that would be amazing too if someone knows how).

I've got some great stage [improvement] ideas and I'll start posting them as soon as I am able to actually DO them.

     Thanks.

21  Help & Tutorials / Help / Need help changing the way I load my hacks on: April 06, 2011, 10:56:58 PM
Dear CK,

I need help changing the method I use to load my hacks.  The method I use now is ok... but I can't help but think its messing a few things up.

How I load them now:  I use the codes from http://balancedbrawl.net/ to load them.  Basicaly you don't need a hacked wii... you just put the SD card into the wii, load brawl, and go to stage builder which loads the hacks onto brawl using a glitch in the loading operation.  Im sure most people know about this.  It seems to work fine for me, I have just been putting all the hacks I have onto my SD card under the proper folders and everything seems to work.... BUT they have their own codes on Balanced Brawl (which modify character behavior) and I am certain they are messing with character hacks in some manner... I can't explain it but some things are just... odd.

Here's the kicker:  I HAVE a hacked wii now... homebrew channel and all!!!!  But I can't seem to get the hacks to load.  In homebrew channel I open up the Gecko and launch game as should be done.... but "SD card error" always pops up.  I've downloaded several versions of the Gecko and several versions of the code file (and they ARE in the right folders on my SD card) but to no avail.

So, the ONLY, way I am able to use my brawl hacks is via the Balanced Brawl website method.  I think I have everything, but maybe I'm doing it wrong x.x

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated... thank you!

23  Help & Tutorials / Help / New to hacking: Need help finding unmodified character data (Solved) on: April 04, 2011, 03:49:51 PM
Dear CK,

I am very new to hacking but have learned to use Smash Attacks and Brawlbox to do some minor things.  I know how to modify psa files that I find.  So I can modify something someone else has already modified.... (don't worry, just for practice, I'm not stealing anything).

I want to create my own hacks but I don't know where or how to obtain the character data for the original characters (unmodified).  Where can I get a psa of a character that hasn't been changed by someone already so that I can make my own stuff from scratch?

Thanks for your time and replies.
24  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How do I resize a character? on: March 27, 2011, 03:23:36 AM
Ok, thank you, I will give that a shot.

I do have a concern though:  I've downloaded a texture for the character I am wanting to edit and the texture already came with fitmotionect file (no I'm not messing around with someone elses texture).  If I make my own fit motion file to resize the default character wont it replace the one I downloaded (and therefore the downloaded texture wont work right)?
25  Help & Tutorials / Help / How do I resize a character? on: March 26, 2011, 10:16:36 AM
Hello KC,

I am fairly (very fairly) new to this site and to character hacking in general.  I've never had the tools or know-how.  I'm wanting to get started by editing the default characters.

I was wondering if someone could give me a very basic tutorial of how to edit a characters height / weight.  I was looking around the vault and found a young zelda and a saria that are smaller than the characters they are textured over and it made me want to try it.  I was hoping to learn how to do this myself.

I've looked around in the help section and (maybe I'm blind) but didn't find a tutorial about how to do this.  If someone would be kind enough to help me with this it would be great.

P.S.  All I have is BrawlBox.  I'm thinking for size (height / width) it should be just a simple matter of changing some numbers in the characters "FitX.pac" file but I can't seem to find what numbers they are XD
