Looks okay, yes? Skin wrap is my best friend now; cut soo much time off of rigging.

Noice!

Yeah, it's Sonic. See, he's blue.

Shhhh

Okay...I lied...this turned out well in my opinion so I decided to share this...well technically it's not Shadow so I'm telling half a lie.

No...he has no mouth. None at all.

Rip, I knew something was off. Should be an easy fix, I think.

Supposedly 3ds version can import models now. I think a couple of people are going to be testing that out soon.

Using public resources should yield a few results. The smallest issue is finding a proper .smd importer/exporter for a modeling program. Perhaps Blender or 3DS Max. The latter is ffy for me as that never worked. Now, the largest issue is getting an imported model to load textures. I've yet to go deep into researching such, but I digress as this is for Wii U development :T

Oh...well...could have fooled me, lol.

ShadowLuigi, are you using nano's shoes?
I should've asked that earlier.

No, these are optimized Generation's shoes (not sure if Nano used those as well), and my own spec maps.

this is looking great! Cheesy

Thanks!

Dayummmmm! Looks like shadow got a huge upgrade.

Indeed.

I haven't rigged it yet. I started him all over from the beginning, so we'll see how he turns out after that

Whoops. I meant the nodes. If you have yet to rig it then that's fine.

So much yes! I knew you could do better with Sm4sh Bowser and had been patiently waiting, can't wait for him to be released. Cheesy

He looks much better. I'm impressed with the power of spec maps and reflections.

---------

Speaking of which. Last preview of Shadow progress

25  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 24, 2016, 02:43:35 AM
Much better

That's low...like...Mario Kart Wii low...how does the rig look?

Edit:

Sheduu progress

On the topic of Sm4sh,

Visual updates

Oh, btw Nano. If you're going to complete accuracy, Shadow's red/black cloth that his rings rap around aren't reflective. they're more like his gloves. If intentional or not, it still fits.
27  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 23, 2016, 10:49:45 AM
Which means custom expressions and using Sm4sh Sonic's as a base. I'll also work on changing his shoes as they lack depth. It's not staying true to the source model, but it'll make him feel more like a character than an assist trophy.

when Sm4sh modding really starting: model import & such
we will see 9001 shadows again this is just a warm up for pre-sm4sh modding

KTH already did a pretty solid vertex edit for Sonic. The Egde has already began. The imports are just phase 2.

Now THAT ladies and gentleman, is how you do a specular map.

Right? It's like Brawl Falcon. He has some nice spec maps.

--------------

Guess this is a Shadow week, huh? I've been working on revamping my Shadow. Eye reflections, better eye textures, spec maps, better shoe shine, and most notably, better fitting side mouth expressions. Leaving him with Brawl Sonic's expresions was not very Sm4sh-like.
29  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 16, 2016, 01:27:24 PM

Finally got back to work on this guy. Gave him a more Brawl-styled texture so he'd blend in more, and gave him Peepa for Pikmin. All that's left is in-game testing, but I can't do it because I don't have a working Wii.

You have my vote.

---------------

I've been more or less absent, but things like this are still being worked upon

30  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 12, 2016, 04:32:01 PM
Oh yeah...forgot to mention that you should avoid adding new materials in the latest BB. That causes weird mapping. Delete the messy materials and add them in v0.68d and it will be fine.
