46  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: GameWatching Gallery(Goron Link and Metal Mario Stage are here !!!) on: July 06, 2010, 12:47:22 PM
If it turns out you're able to rip models from Melee and get them working as stages in Brawl (which it appears you are on track to do with Brinstar Depths), then it's pretty much impossible for your hacks to be crappy, unless you pick a crappy Melee stage Tongue

I do still want that Saffron port for Pokemon Stadium D: (Pokemon Stadium 2 preferably).  I want to use the Dantarion code over PS2 for it, but if I use a .rel file, I won't be able to use the normal PS2 anymore, right?

After seeing that video, I've gotta say the size is fine.  Even the background.  It's easily close enough to not have to tweak the stage size.  As stated over at Smashboards, the jump mechanics are just a bit different now, but as far as horizontal length of the platforms, they seem just right.  The background is also totally passable.  It looks like it's working great in its current state.  Death Mountain is almost always in view.

I'll have to try it out myself to test stuff like death zones, but apparently those have been ironed out already.  I just heard someone say they can see black sometimes from the background picture not being big enough.  Might I suggest trying to make the background image tile-able?  Like, so you can place three of them in a row in the background for those moments where the camera just barely sees the edge of the image?

If you can get me the texture I'm pretty good at doing things like that and could certainly help out.  I could atleast enlarge the original background texture and make it a bit bigger through some manual photoshop work (yay tablet).

What about Saffron D:  That looked like it was nearly complete.

He already started Saffron City, make him finish that first D:

SoulSilver is looking cool.  I think I'd prefer the bubbles to help the underwater feel.  It'd be cool if a small amount of bubbles rose from the ground and moved with the ground (in the background) as well, along with some dirt being kicked up behind Lugia, buuuut that's probably not feasible.  I'd also nitpick about Lugia's wings looking like they could be pulled back a little more, but I'm sure a seemingly simple change like that would require MASSIVE changes to the animation, and I would never wish that upon you Tongue  Can't wait to use Dantarion's code with this and the HeartGold stage though.

Would it be difficult to make those same Sonic changes for the other Sonic models?  Like the Green Sonic with the bangles around his wrists, or the Yellow Sonic with the gold bangles?  Just wondering, because I'm definitely going to edit my own version of a Green Sonic using that blank white one, but it'd be nice if he still had those green bangles.

Also, what about porting it to the vertex-hacked Shadow model? ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php#Number=5184&Moderated=All&Moderated=All ).

I'm not sure what you actually changed to get rid of the tinting, so it might be possible for anyone to port it over those models, or it might require you to repeat your process of doing that D:

:O

I don't know what you did to do that Mewtwo2000, but if you can get it over Hyper Wave Kusanagi's True Perfect Shadow texture (it's the Shadow texture you posted a pic of just now, only over a vertex hacked Sonic model to get the shoes/spines), that'd be awesome.  I also noticed the pink on that texture in contrast to his stomach.

And thanks for the Lake Battlefield Cheesy  I think I'm going to make a few personal changes to it relating to the size of the background objects (as I'm seeing the edges of some of them when playing widescreen), but I look forward to the tutorial.

I also tried finding a more suitable lighting model that doesn't shift to an evening cycle, but it seems like every single other lighting model bleaches out the Battlefield platform and make it's look all bright and high contrast.  Maybe if I replace the lighting files within the SceneData for evening with the lighting files from the day parts...

Also, did you speed up the sky on your Rayquaza stage?  I thought it was always like that, and want it on the Battlefield version as well Tongue  I'm assuming that's as simple as an animation speedup.

EDIT: Nevermind you didn't.  What I thought was missing was the shadows from the clouds.  I'm guessing that's a lot more complicated to implement than the rest of everything in the stage :O
57  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Mewtwo2000's showcase [FOURSIDE IS OUT] (6 may 2010) on: May 10, 2010, 04:28:39 AM
Get the 920101.pac file to get the lake Wink
All right.  I give up Tongue

I took one look at the stage file for that and had no clue what to do or where to start.  All kinds of different models in there.  I don't know if I should edit the SSE stage .pac or the Battlefield .pac.  Don't know anything @_@

If it's not complicated and you could post a few quick steps that'd be cool.  If not, well, I'd definitely appreciate it if you made it Tongue

I will make it right now, and when done, I'll write everything made to have it working, so you can make yours from now on

You sir, are a saint.

@Mit

So you want a battlefield over the lake stage? It should be easy to make, I can make it for ya in no time if you want

I think I'm gonna try to take a whack at it on my own first Smiley  Although, do you happen to remember which file is the Lake stage in the SSE stage directories?
60  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Mewtwo2000's showcase [Fourside IS OUT] (5/05/10) on: May 05, 2010, 09:50:27 PM
I just noticed that the sky for that stage is really epic.  Surprised it hasn't been used in any other levels by people.

EDIT:  Actually, if someone just stuck Battlefield right above that Lake and kept everything about the Lake stage (and kept all of Battlefield's boundaries and collisions and whatnot), I'd be all over that.

Hell, I might do that myself actually, if I could ever figure out how.
