Last time I tried to download Project M + BrawlEX, many parts of the google drive mirror of the project couldn't be downloaded because a lack of permission, which I'm assuming now only belongs to the original creator.
I downloaded the mega mirror, but if that reaches the same fate, I am also going to post a mirror here.
oops? lol i think gdrive changed their security around that time. and reset some of the permissions. if it gets reported to me i'll fix any still broken.
You know, i'm actually excited for this. It seems that the community has been on a PM craze since its inception. One of the main reasons I adapted PW's clone engine to PM, was to hopefully promote creative freedom and open the mod up. However it's still not an easy mod to work with. I mean, if we have the power to make this game literally anything we would want, why settle on a clone of an existing game? I'm always excited when I see something a bit different different. Or in this case back to the roots.
Things like this were the main reason I got into brawl modding in general, it's essentially mugen in 3d, I rarely ever got bored playing it back in the day, because stages could always be changed, characters could be added, music could be customized. I kinda got bored with the mod packs like B- or PM. Not that they were bad mods, I just always felt like the customization I enjoyed was pulled away.
Do you happen to know if the newest Legacy with the 50 costume code would work with it?
If it fits on a 32 gig SD card it should work. As a legacy XP dev, this was one of my preferred methods of loading the game, as well as my input for a hackless solution when stack smash couldn't handle it. ^^
well bad news for me that I someow bricked my wii u's wii mode and cant get HW channel working
Well... This exploit specifically is for the Wii. I'm not sure how a Wii U's system would handle it, (likely not well as the vWii is a completely different software than an actual Wii, you really can't expect anything to work.) Depending on how you bricked it, it may be possible to fix.
This is actually quite old. But seems many people still don't know about this exploit, so I thought i'd share the method I use. It's a good alternative to Smash Stack. Team Twiiizers released Letter Bomb some time ago. Basically it saves a hacked letter to your SD card that when opened, will load custom code, (I.E. Gecko, PM Launcher, HB Installer, etc.)
PROs: 1) It does not have the 2 gig SD card limit, this means you can load much larger mods Such as Legacy XP hackless. 2) It's quite simple to set up from the website, where you just enter your Wii's mac address to sign the letter. 3) You do not need to delete all your custom stages in the game. 4) It's available in all regions. 5) It does not require a particular game to function.
CONs: 1) It will save the letter to a specific day on the SD card, and it may be annoying to backtrack and look for it over and over, especially as time passes. 2) It will only work on the Wii that you entered the mac address for. You will need to repeat it for each console you wish to use it on. 3) It only works on menu 4.3+. 4) New things are scary to most people. 5) This does not work on the Wii U.
Actually, the original BeX thread by PW is stickied in the codes section. xD regardless i am glad to see when others dedicate their time to new mods. Happy hacking!
That code is quite ancient, (from 2008 xD). Several codes have been made since, particularly for Project M. It has several parts, at least 3-4 iirc to make it function with the newer codes, but its been a while since i've looked.
so that part is specifically to enable air dodge, there is one to make you fall into special fall after, and a couple that allow you to do actions while "teching" which include sliding off the ledge. All separate codes.
Well my first recommendation is to never use anything remotely close to one of nintendo's icons for the app. That's how they DMCA'd mine. Other than that, don't bundle brawlEx files like I did. Just have them select their brawlEx install directory.
I'll try to get around to making something at some point, and maybe some exmodules
DMCA is usualy an app that is 100% automated, so i wouldn't worry about it, its likely a false positive for detecting traces of nintendo's coding. Adding files to a pasworded zip helps a lot in stopping false possitives. it encrypts so the sniffers can't peek in it. Also removing any nintendo searchable tags in the dl name would help. I normally stick a readme in the dl with the password.
Finally found more motivation to work on the models again. I've been taking an extended break. Also moved image hosts. Photobucket is absolutely terrible now! Its so slow and bloated. Dx
I'd like to add you can currently only replace THP's using Riivolution or USB loaders. gecko does not support it. under help is a lot of useful guides on how to do edits like this. including a stickied thread which has the NTSCU brawl partition in it.
its been a while since ive been here but has any progress been made on the clone engine? also do we still have to replace boss sfx to have custom fighter sfx?
There is a new FPC that allows adding entries to the BSAR file, but i think its limited still atm, something about actually having to replace the file on the ISO first, before being able to use the code to replace its new added IDs.
