The model viewer seems to be working fine in the build you just posted. However, it seems that loading any FitMotion pac in the animation viewer for any standard character makes BB crash entirely ("BrawlBox has stopped working" error).
Hi, I haven't messed with Brawl for a while, and I figured I would try it out again. I started by updating my Brawlbox version from 0.71 to 0.75b. The model viewer doesn't seem to be working for me to any extent. I apologize if anyone mentioned a similar issue earlier in the thread:
I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit), and my .NET framework is up to date. I wanted to update because I remembered 0.71 having some issue where it would screw up the shaders on imports (I don't quite remember how to fix it, either). Sorry in advanced if this isn't the right place to post this.
I mean none of the characters were characters that transform/switch or anything. All of these characters work fine also (even transforming/switching ones), its just crashing with 4 human players specifically, no matter what characters are selected.
I used to have that kind of problem in riivolution to, (but I use gecko now) it must be the common5_en.pac being compressed wrong by pressing save in brawbox (older or new) which messes up the file and the select screen. But when pressing save as, it worked perfectly for me. So it might be that or the wrong file you downloaded.
I'm busy during this week, so I'll try messing around with the common_5 over the weekend
After experimenting I can confirm that my game is no longer playable with 4 players via Riivolution. It happened once when I tried to play with friends, and I thought it was my just SD card needing to be reformatted, but I disregarded it and just played another game. I tested out 4 human players; as soon as a stage is selected, the game hangs. It works perfectly with just 3 human players, 4 computer players, and even 3 human players plus one computer player. Can anyone help me with this?
Unfortunately, Brawl doesn't automatically detect the colors (if that was what you were wondering). If you want the custom textures/characters' colors to be consistent with the team colors, you would have to manually put the custom character over the original color/texture slot you want. The selection menu just chooses the character's slot numbers (that have the specific color). If you were asking if it is possible to change the slots it chooses for each color; its probably possible via codes, although there are no codes I know of that can do this.
I definitely would recommend not running it from a USB flash drive (as it will be much slower), and even if you run it on from a different drive, it will still use your main CPU; in short, I would just recommend using another computer (because it is easier). Each HDD does not have its own memory, they only have internal storage; the computer itself is what has all the memory for running programs.
If i remember correctly, it is like this because the masterpieces are stored in another partition on the disc and neither Riivolution or Gecko can read it correctly. Basically, you can't play them in Riivolution or Gecko (with filepatch).
I just finished installing the Stage Expansion 2.0 for Riivolution, and it worked perfectly. So I went back to Brawlbox to replace a mass amount of stage selection textures with my original ones. While doing this, I did not stop to save at all in the middle of the process. After I replaced the textures, I hit save, but got the message "The given key was not present in the dictionary". So I hit "Save as.." and it worked, so I decided to exit (thinking it had saved). I re-opened it, only to find out all my changes had been lost. I tried hitting "Save" again (without modifying) and got the message "Unable to open file for write access". If I try to save a file with any edits, it will say the other error message (key error). Now this is all BrawlBox does, it won't work correctly anymore (even if I restart my PC); I tried searching for a solution (but I couldn't find anything). Would anyone be able to help with this?
Upon further inspection, it turns out I can't save any changes, or even edit ONLY sc_selmap's MiscData[80] (in common_5). It loads in-game however. Any suggestions? Post Merge: September 16, 2012, 03:31:11 PMNevermind. Got it to work with an older version of BrawlBox.
The characters usually will be moving in what looks a random pattern (if the level or their moveset(s) were altered). Sometimes the round can end earlier also. I've never had it crash though or anything extreme.
Can you be a bit more specific? Are they songs you downloaded and added; or are they the game's original songs? If you're using Gecko (with custom songs), the BRSTM(s) might be too large.
