loops dont use async timers lol they mostly use sync, even the ones made by nintendo.

Sorry, I don't know why I mentally switched synchronous and asynchronous timers. Must've been tired.
In that case, I don't know why it'd freeze... maybe see what happens if you move the timer to the beginning?
I assume you're using brawlbox, so hopefully this'll be fixed when BlackJax releases 0.68.
