31  Help & Tutorials / Texture and Portrait Tutorials / Re: Recolorizing, Texture Changing, and Alpha(Google Sketchup and Color Quantizer) on: December 03, 2016, 03:57:32 PM
I think that another good program to use is Paint.net
I've been using that already, I have gotten much better because of it. What do the materials do? I only get what bones, objects and textures, everything else I find unimportant. I assume they're important however, otherwise they wouldn't be there.
32  Help & Tutorials / Help / [Unsolved] How do I delete Vertices? on: December 03, 2016, 08:35:12 AM
I have been trying to sort something out with Meta Knights armor and would like to know how to delete the Vertices in the previewer. I am using Brawlbox v0.71 (I have v0.77 also), I am not talking about the model, but a piece of an object in brawlbox so to speak.

Do I need a different version of brawlbox, or program to do this.

I am also having issues with something else. I am trying to import Kirby's hands and his feet to replace Meta Knights. I don't know how to use blender or open any files. I don't want to import Kirby's bones to Meta Knight, just the object so He can have his arms and feet without messing up the moveset. To avoid spamming this thread (getting of topic) PM me if you are willing to help me out with my project. Gotta start somewhere and I joined this site a month ago, and have not contributed to anything yet.

You still have to export it as .fbx and then use Autodesk's FBX Converter; but the advantages to this are that to get the actual bones, you don't have to go through a separate program, and can just directly export the .dae from BrawlBox and import it into Blender, and also, you can now import fully-rigged characters, with only minor import glitches that are ONLY rotations, so they're a LOT more fixable; especially with Brawlbox's bug on translating vertices, whereas rotating them works fine in the latest BrawlBox.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed but the resources downloaded are broken. I have trued googling some of them, it worked by the way, but seems pointless to leave the resources icon on top if they haven't fixed it. I'm not trying to be negative, I just think it would be easier if they worked is all.

What are all the requirements for this tutorial, or have you not gotten around to it yet?
34  Help & Tutorials / Texture and Portrait Tutorials / Re: Recolorizing, Texture Changing, and Alpha(Google Sketchup and Color Quantizer) on: November 27, 2016, 07:20:00 PM
So, basically, the Smash 3 and Smash 4 characters use a different material than regular Brawl fighters, and that material lets it use an additional texture for the "rim-lit" effects. I believe they have it in the end of the list of textures, and it's called something with "Ref" or something to that effect in the name. So basically, you can export a material from a Smash 3/4 model that uses that rim-lit effect, replace the materials on your model with that, and then just do some renaming so the texture names are the same, and then you can edit the ref texture and change the color, if you want the color of the rimlit to be different.
The material? How do I do that?

When I read HD I thought I'd learn the characters shine effect in game. How do I do that? Kinda like the Smash 3/4 characters. Sorry if I'm being unclear.

Oh Sorry mann. I don't use riivolution. I meam someone who does may pop in and help you
It's alright, I'm still just getting used to hacking and all. I'll get it done somehow.

I am having trouble with importing models. I don't now why blender won't launch, and I can't afford 3ds max. I am trying to make Meta Knight Look like Kirby but with a mask and sword only. Exactly like Kirby with no armor, cape or wings. It tried copying the model from Kirby to Meta Knight, and it ended in failure. Been trying to find a way to do this. I am working on something and I can't quite do it right just yet.

Ok to change announcer calls you need to download Super Sawndz and download a file called "smashbros_sound.brsar". You open that file with Super Sawnds and replace the announcer calls in there. You need Audacity as well to convert sounds to Wav format. Keep in mind that .Sawnd files have a filesize limit and will crash the game if you exceed it.

Sawnd files are named by group (ex. 8.sawnd is all of Mario's sound effects and voice clips). So when you save the files, name them according to their group (in this case the announcer calls are 223.sawnd i believe. I may be wrong).

Also, you need to create a directory in your sd card for sawnd files. In "pf", create a new folder named sfx and you put all sawnd files in there.

You also need a code that enables sfx to be read directly from the SD card. That code is RSBE soundbank replacement engine. Search it up, copy paste, and inject the code into your GCT code. This allows your sounds to be heard in game.

You also need some illegal files to actually use syper sawndz properly. Soundfile.dll, sndconv and another one. I'll link it later if you can't find them

Hope this helps
A few thing before I try this. My Wii is Pal not NTSU, if I try the codes RSBE it won't load, but my homebrew won't load anything all of a sudden anyway. Also, I don't know what you mean by PF, but I assume it's the same as SSBB for riivolution, which is what I use to load the hacks.

I use Riivolution so my directory is different. If I put the the sfx file in the ssbb folder, will it work the same? I am curious if it is possible to load SSBB cheat codes on riivolution, I'll have to find out.

EDIT: The codes didn't work, and neither does anything on HBC... How do I fix it (The Homebrew Channel)?

So all I have to do is replace the files with the motion pac's? I'll see if it works. If it does I'll credit you too if/when I upload the files.

EDIT: The files did not work. I tried the common4.pac and common.pac but for some reason it's the same. What am I doing wrong?
EDIT2: It worked when I renamed the file I downloaded from Common4_en/Common_en and got rid of _en. Thank you for this. I was wondering about the announcer calls too, how to change them and such.

I will be coming here to ask questions if I can't find a good answer any where else. This will prevent multiple topics being made and will be easier on everyone.

I have been trying to hack for a while and I am still just learning. I have gotten everything I need, and the hacks work, but some of the movesets won't work as intended. The movesets are Samus and Bowser that doesn't work. It's as it the FitcharactermotionEtc.pac isn't there for those characters, but they are. I don't like to make topics but this has been bothering me for a while. My Wii is 4.3E. PAL SSBB. Everyone else works perfectly.

If it's not too much trouble, I would also like to know how exactly to replace sound in SSBB. If I can't change a characters sound, then just the announcer call is fine for me.

PS: To be more specific, I am using SDHC micro card (works hacks, I've done it) and the moveset is IRONMAN V3 PAL. Bowsers is just a new run. I don't like his old one. I tried all tutorials I could find regarding the announcer call, but I feel like there are some I have missed.

My Hack Directory - SD/SSBB/Fighter/Koopa/FitKoopaMotionEtc.pac
                 SD/SSBB/Fighter/Samus/FitSamusMotionEtc.pac

-Thank in advance.

Okay. So my sisters PC works Brawlbox 0.71 and every other. For what ever reason, it doesn't work for mine. I have been trying to narrow down the possible reasons it's not working. It happened after I installed windows 10 32 bit. I now have windows 7 64bit, and it's still not working. I did a clean install on both installations. So I know it has something to do with missing software.

I tried using older versions of Brawlbox. Still not working.

Dunno. Maybe.

I'll have to check if it's corrupted or needs an update. Does all Brawlbox versions need .net framework?
42  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Brawlbox Model Issues on: February 24, 2016, 07:43:31 AM
I'm not entirely sure, as I don't know all that much about OpenGL and stuff, but I think so.
Could it be something to do with .Net Framework, or another system file or application?
43  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Brawlbox Model Issues on: February 21, 2016, 01:13:03 PM
I tried it (on my Dell Vostro 1000, I'm currently using my sisters PC) and I got an error showing a red X like you showed to me before, only it happened after I pressed Ctrl+P, not before. It worked on my sisters laptop, all of the Brawlbox versions do but don't on mine.

What's my next move? It doesn't show the error when I go to model, it only shows the error when I attempt to preview it.
44  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Brawlbox Model Issues on: February 19, 2016, 12:19:17 PM
Well, that's the thing, is that I've never seen that error before. I do have a theory, though. Use an old version of BrawlBox(Like, say, v .63 or earlier I know would work for this test) and do the same thing of expanding the MDL0, but DON'T preview it like you would with Ctrl+P. See if it will still throw the same error with this case or not. If it does or not will at least narrow the list of possibilities down.

I used my sisters PC (with her permission) to see if Brawlbox works, and it did. I went to control panel and saw she uses 32-bit. That means it's my PC that doesn't work Brawlbox. Even using 64-bit it still doesn't work.
45  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Brawlbox Model Issues on: February 17, 2016, 11:32:36 AM
I don't think so. I think it only works on 64-bit PCs.

Is there no way for me to use Brawlbox anyway? I mean it is possible to use 64-bit programs on 32-bit PC's or can I/need to switch my PC to 64-bit first.

EDIT: I just switched my PC from Windows 10 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit and Brawlbox still doesn't work. Is there a driver required for viewing Brawlbox models? I was wondering, did anyone else have the same issue?
