1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: August 10, 2015, 06:17:18 PM
so after a few hours of playing in the splatfest, i became rather unsatisfied with the current hair texture.  so i gave it another go.  i'm very pleased at how it came out this time.  the hair detail can actually be seen without squinting.  i also touched up the skin a tad, a bit darker still, but has a much better color to it.

and for comparison sake, the previous textures.

after basically hogging this thread for the last week or so, you guys will probably be begging me to disappear for another year.

The Skin definitely looks better... So what do we have here! All the members of this forum as my witnesses Snoopy has admitted that he plans to pirate my metal BOOTY!

pirate is such a dirty word.  i prefer 'borrowing'.

Can you make a black inkling?  (Black skin / brown skin)

i'll see what i can do, but no promises.  it would be kind of weird to have a full hair and eye color choice, but no skin tone choice.

attempt # last before i give up and have someone with more photoshop experience than i do which is probably close to the entirety of this board.

for comparison, the Purple has the original skin texture

and further comparison, Mario.  well, the only close enough to Mario i had on my sd at the moment.

this is what happens when the only included skin texture is a white that lies somewhere between 'sour cream' and 'glow in the dark'.

They're still too pale for Brawl's average, IMO.

Besides, are the feet tips properly rigged? Fox's shoes are just as big, but they don't clip into the floor at all if I remember properly.

they are rigged, it's just the positioning.  i didn't realize they were that low until i already rigged everything.  and their shoes are pretty dang big.  the price of freshness.

I had to give Inkling Mario metals yesterday, so I thought to myself "normal metals are boring!"
At that moment I had an epiphany. Enjoy!

The only downside is temporary of shoe and facial hair spec... No big deal in my opinion.

that is a great idea.  i may or may not steal that idea for later use...

skin is less pale as Seg wanted, and i tried my best to make the spots show more, using what Program suggested.  better?

also, them on a different stage, because why not.

and Program, to answer a previous question i forgot about, yes, they work fine on the Wii.  i don't have my Dolphin set up for Brawl mods, so everything i do is on my Wii.  they're actually pretty low poly, only about 17K polys/10K vertices, and that's for everything, both inklings, 4 sets of faces each, 2 sets of hair for each, and the additional edits i've done.

checklist - correct all materials, brighten eyes, more color to hair, brighter shine, full ink tank.  that's all done, so how about now?

the original hair texture is black and white, so i was lazy and just dropped the opacity and slapped it on the colors to keep some of the detail, but it drained some of the color, plus the shine seemed to sap more of it away.  i think it looks better now, so thanks for the reminder to fix it.  as for the ink level, i had just left it where it was, but it'd make sense to have it full.

I tried...and failed. Brawl users will have it for their Down Special, however, PM users like myself will be neglected.

couldn't you just add Fluud to Mario's character model?  it may clip a little and wouldn't animate, but it'd at least be there.
5  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: August 04, 2015, 03:34:36 AM
they're indeed over Fox, for the vague excuse of actually using the Slpattershot for an attack.

so how's this for a shine?  i'm still figuring out why a few are being stupid, so a few materials are off in the pic.

also, the last of the colors.

i would brighten the eyes a bit. they look a little... dark

i think it may just be certain colors that it's that way, but i will.

These look nice. I can't tell who they're rigged over though, it kind of looks like Sheik. Anyways, my only suggestion would be to make the hair colours a bit more vibrant. Also, if see correctly those tanks are transparent at the top... nice touch!

P.S. If you have any trouble the the materials (which I'm sure you won't) just give me a shout. I already know exactly how do them, since I'm working on Rosetta-hime's Mario Inkling.

if i can't get the last few sorted out, i certainly will have you help.

colors!

almost done, just a few more material edits, like adding a shine to the hair tentacles.

When are you going to release this model hack?

probably tomorrow.

Is that the model ripped from Splatoon? I didn't think that game had been ripped yet...

they are, or at least i assume so.  a month or so back, someone ported the Inklings, Octoling, and Squid Sisters into Source Film Maker, mentioning that he got them from RTB.  so i grabbed them from there and did my thing.

Sorry, Snoopy. There's a high chance I'll be dumping the model you made for me for K. Rool.

i don't mind, it's your PSA.

Hey.  I did a thing.

pulled myself away from Splatoon long enough to do this.
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 28, 2015, 07:55:08 PM
i do believe i'm done.  too bad default Brawl can only do 6 at a time.

YUS
If only there was a way to make his Pocket move workable in Brawl.

the best that could probably happen is it either acts like Fox's Down B, or Game And Watch's Down B but with a single absorption.  at least i'm assuming either of those would work, i haven't actually tried them yet.
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: February 25, 2015, 09:52:51 PM
looks like i'm joining in on the Smash 4 importing fun too.

real surprise i'm doing the Villagers, right?  just got the other Male model done, so i just need to get the other Female model next.
11  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Stage Workshop on: August 11, 2014, 05:13:10 PM
figured i'd show it here.  i'm making a stage that you'll probably recognize.

Tortimer Island from Smash 4 3DS.  go figure, something Animal Crossing related from me.  it's not 100% the same, mainly because the 3DS one has some pretty ugly trees.  the center tree is in the stage, and you can stand on it as well.  right now it's on Smashville, because it had a few things i could borrow from it.  i'll probably throw it on Jungle Japes for swim-able water.  and because the background was pretty empty for my taste,

i'll assume that a few weeks of no one complaining/saying anything means that i'm good to release.

which means,

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=205558

i'm officially calling it done.  well, 98% done, but still.  so yeah, enjoy.

if you're wondering what i've been doing for the last few weeks...
Tortimer Island.  finally felt like getting it done.

as you can see, it's not 100% like it will be in the 3DS version, mainly because those are really ugly trees.  also, the background was a bit empty for my taste, so i added a little something.

and yes, the waves all move, no swim-able water yet because right now this is on Smashville.  i'll probably put it on Jungle Japes for the water, or Battlefield or Final Destination for porting.

as for what i'll do next.... well, i'm not sure.  i've got a few characters still in a WIP stage that i should finish, but i have an idea for one more PSA i'd like to do.  i'm not too sure about the PSA though, since i know it'll take at least 6 months to finish, because of classes, and i only have about half the moves planned right now.  i suppose if there's enough interest, i could go into detail about it, but yeah.
13  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl! -FINAL"?" Release!- on: July 20, 2014, 07:04:02 PM
well, i tried again with the BrawlEx version, and after 3 times of BrawlBox corrupting the file, this is what i got.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jrs16l4w8s6tsuy/VillagerPSAFinal.zip

if it still freezes, then i can't fix it.  i got it to freeze once or twice, but never in a consistent manner, so i still really couldn't test to see what changes might be causing it.  or it might be at a point where it needs to be remade from the vBrawl version, i don't know.  all i can really say is to just go a tad slower through the menus, since it seems like it's been freezing when you try to go through the menus at Sonic speeds.

anything else i should do before calling this done?  because after re-editing the BrawlEx .pac 4 times and the vBrawl .pac once as well, i'm so ready to do just that.
14  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl! -FINAL"?" Release!- on: July 17, 2014, 05:10:08 PM
alright, i got some more stuff changed around, including the Slingshot doing only 3 damage, Up B only lasts 90 frames instead of 150, re-added falling off the edge with the Side B but made it a lot slower so you don't end up killing yourself too much, and made the Final Smash have a massive Shield Damage number so that even if you shield through it you'll come out of it dazed.  i even somehow slowed the bullet down a bit.  for as long as i've played Brawl, i never knew that Pit's Arrow actually did more damage the longer it's held.  or that you could turn around while holding it.

so i've updated the download, but for now it's only the vBrawl version i've updated.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jrs16l4w8s6tsuy/VillagerPSAFinal.zip

the reason the BrawlEx one isn't changed is because i've been trying to replicate the freezing issue, but it just won't happen.  so i'll take you up on that offer SecretChaos, if you'd send me your files, then maybe then i can figure out why i'm not seeing the issue.  or anyone that's having freezing issues with the BrawlEx version, really.
15  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl! -FINAL"?" Release!- on: July 13, 2014, 07:19:23 PM
that is weird, especially since the newest BrawlEx version doesn't crash on me at all.  i'll try a few more things, but i really don't know why you're having issues, and yet i'm not.
