Hey, big fan of your work. Dunno how busy you are or what stages you have in the works, but if you're receptive, I have a DK-related suggestion that I think would be both 1) popular and 2) relatively easy to make.
Thought I'd pitch this idea to you, in case Abbey Ruins was an indicator that you're looking into new stage possibilities. There really aren't that many from the DK series on the Vault as is.
In any case, I found a segment from the Mine Cart Carnage stage that, if you're still interested, could be translated into a Yoshi's Island (Brawl)-type platform layout for the Project M/Legacy folks.
I've had fun with your recent stages, but yeah, people seem to be mostly interested in the competitive-leaning stages nowadays. Maybe you'd get more downloads for your other listed stages if the layouts were more tourney-friendly (for example, based on Battlefield, Fountain of Dreams, Wario Land and whatnot)?
I know Smash Bros. Legacy XP, for example, is trying to compile as many quality tourney stages as possible for its new builds...and it already has some other fun ones like your Ghost House stage. Maybe reaching out to them is a good way to get more attention for your projects?
I found this, from a project aiming to import Sunshine's levels into Galaxy 2. Can't personally open the models, so I don't know if they'd work for stages, but if they do, there's a lot of potential here IMO.
Can't wait to try out World 4-2, and Morton's Castle was a really pleasant surprise...wasn't expecting to see that one for a while. Nice work!
One thing, since I didn't see it in your original post, are you still planning on doing Mine Cart Carnage? I can definitely understand if you want to restrict to one request per user, just wondering if it's still on the table.
Just checked out your World 4-2 video on YouTube...it's magnificent! The level really feels 'alive' with the Beezos in the background and the various items — excellent touches there. The one glitch(?) I noticed was that there seems to be a small pixelated line below the Ace Coin. Not sure whether that's the level itself or your TV (it seems to be below one of the cherries in your preview images, so I'm guessing the latter).
In any case, it's a great stage that I can't wait to add to my personal build. Thanks for making it!
Fixed! Lol thanks broskii. I'm having trouble with the Super Mario stage though. The problem I feared would happen happened. I cannot get a high resolution background.
This is what I have so far. But you see how the background kills the whole thing due to the sheer lack of quality it has.
Huh...maybe that's because that background was the one item I linked from Super Mario Advance, while the rest of it was from Super Mario All-Stars?
Liking what I'm seeing so far from Blackthorn Gym on YouTube! Also, just as an FYI, the Super Mario Advance stage is actually Level 4-2, not 2-4 (all the worlds only have three levels, so the wrong name might be confusing for some).
Thanks a lot broskii! Sunset Hill Zone? Did you mean Sky Canyon Zone? Because I released Sunset Hill Zone a long time ago already lol. I'll definitely be adding some more Super Mario Mario Advance stages! Maybe some DKC ones as well!
Oops, I thought you were still working on Sunset Hill when I saw it in your SA3 pack...Sky Canyon Zone looks pretty neat as well!
As far as requests, there's a really cool option from the first Super Mario Advance, in World 4-2...midway through the level, there's an area where you have to jump across the backs of a group of whales (https://youtu.be/clCzUWmWHpo?t=44). That would be a unique option for sure, separate from the grasslands-based SMB2 stages that usually get made.
There's also a portion of DKC's Mine Cart Carnage level here (https://youtu.be/f5xnA9qAHbo?t=58) where the mine cart track could lend itself well to stage platforms (especially since mine carts are one of the series' most iconic aspects).
These look really nice! Looking forward to the Sunset Hill Zone and Morton's Castle stages especially. If you're specializing in GBA game stages, I'd hope to see other Super Mario Advance or DKC GBA stuff in the future as well.
I'd love to see rips of anything from Super Mario Sunshine or Luigi's Mansion. It'd be great to see more stages based on those games sometime in the future.
Thank you! I'll make the results screen picture (RSP) from that image. Could I get a battle portrait from you though? If it's not too much trouble of course.
