I don't really like the platforms and you should try doing something with the sun clock, and for god's sake don't erase the moon, it looks very badass, I can't wait for the release!
Oh the moon is staying. And yeah. I agree. Its time I gave those platforms another look.
With a little help from another part of the boards here, I learned how to edit the sky. Since I can only do black-and-white for the sky, the colors from the daytime-to-night lightning is still active. However, it just makes the white stars that I have go from bright white to a more eerie red color, which actually looks pretty cool. Still, since it's supposed to be a darker version of Battlefield, let me show you guys just how the place looks at high noon.
I still plan on doing something with the water and maybe the clouds as well. The platforms might get a change too. Other than that, any critiques and suggestions are welcomed.
DVD -R always get that track error, its due to them checking all the info before doing the actually burn, if they don't fit, it wont let you burn. You will need a DVD +R and set it to -R mode to burn a DL brawl onto a SL.
Failed to Reserve Track! Reason: Invalid Field in CDB
This is what I get when I try to burn Brawl to a DVD. I know my DVDs and my burn drive work fine since I burned two games today already.
The DVD is single-layer. I heard that to burn single-layer, I just force a burn and ignore all the errors that show up, but I can't ignore the errors if they prevent me from continuing, haha.
I'm trying to edit Battlefield, and everything has been a success, but I don't know how to edit the sky. There's a skybg file that's just a gradient black-to-white, and there's another sky file that's just white clouds on a black background. Changing either of these makes the file size too large, but I know it can be done because I've seen a hacked battlefield with a different sky, ocean, terrain, ect.
This is a project I worked on today. I wanted Battlefield to be darker and more Final Destination-ish. The only problem I'm having is changing the sky. The skyBG file is just a simple white-to-black gradient and whenever I try to use an image file instead, the file size is too big (even though the file remains the same size as before). Any tips on how to edit the sky?
Anyway, here's what I have so far:
Updates (7/8/09):
I have finished most of the texture. I just need critiques and suggestions at this point. But this is what I did:
I added a new sky. It's a starry night sky, so the map is pretty much in perpetual night. However, i can't stop the daylight changes at all, so while nighttime looks great, daytime looks like a very bright evening. So to remedy that, I added a big moon, akin to the Luigi's mansion map, so that way, during the bright daytime, it'll look like the light in the background is from the moon. This way it doesn't look so random. The best part is, aside from the moon moving position every now and then due to the changes in time, the moon is seen through the whole cycle and changes depending on the day as well, and each time of day makes it look as nice as ever. I'll let you see for yourself.
Time order: Morning, Noon, Sunset, Midnight.
Updates (7/8/09):
I'm finished! All that's left are for you all to critique and let me know if you want any changes! I also fixed the platform colors to match the bottom area!
Thats what happens when I try to edit the Battlefield stage. I followed the Ash guide perfectly and made sure I had everything, so I don't know what the problem is. This is what my folder looks like:
When I run the step1_extract and type the name in, I get that duplicate/not found error and that current_mod.ash file appears. There are no IMG files in sight.
