I was afraid something like that would happen, the best solution that i know of is...
1) open up the .tga file in Photoshop that is said to be too big for CUPASH 2) go to Image --> Mode and then select RGB Color 3) then go to Image --> Mode and then select Indexed Color... 4) When the window pops up make sure the palette is "Local (Perpetual)" and reduce the Colors by 25.
Keep doing this until CUPASH finally shuts up about the file being too big =|
Hope that helps unless you use GIMP in which i don't know what to say.
Most portraits can be indexed through The GIMP and still work properly. Regarding the too many colors dilemma, the big portraits should not have more than 72 colors. However, some portraits may require a smaller palette.
By the way, small portraits shouldn't have more than 32 colors if you're planning on making some.
Not all characters can be transparent. For example, none of Mario's texture parts can be transparent except for his eye iris and Final Smash eye; Picano has proven this himself since he tried to make Mario transparent at one point.
Make sure that all the big portraits are a size of 128x160 pixels. Also, most portraits that you create should not have more than 72 colors when you index them. You can do all of this with The GIMP, but portraits relating to Mr. G&W should be indexed through Photoshop, just to be safe.
On a side note, small portraits need to be a size of 48x56 pixels, and have no more than 32 colors.
If that's magenta (#ff00ff) on the background of that image, you should know that all +1 textures can't have transparency. Also, most indexed textures have to be indexed through Photoshop.
When dealing with the Final Smash eyes for Kirby, Pikachu, Ness, Ice Climbers, Lucas, and Jigglypuff, you need to use Photoshop CS3 or CS4 to edit the Alpha Channel; The GIMP will not work. What's shown on the Alpha Channel should be exactly like what's shown on the normal eye texture file, except only the eye part of the texture should be visible. Below is an image example of what I'm talking about.
Note: All of Kirby's eye textures are normal textures. The magenta background on the bottom-right image only represents that the Alpha Channel is enabled.
I recommend using Photoshop. It is easier to use. You can index and everything. =)
P.S. MNSG, HOW DO YOU SO MANY POST? I KNOW YOU DIDNT POST THAT MUCH!
You can ask Picano to transfer your post count from the old forum to the new forum. Just PM him and hopefully he'll transfer the post count to your new account. That's why my post count is what you see.
I noticed that you included my portraits for Twilight Lucario on the primary post, fireking220. If you're planning on including portrait files, my Twilight Bowser texture does have them. Twilight Giga Bowser has none though.
the reason behind the black eyes behind the twilight bros. was that one day powermarshall of powernation asked me to do twilight veriosn of mario and luigi and he wanted them like that. I don't really like powermarshall's choice but i like ur renovation on the eyes. I wanted to change it but nvr got around to it. maybe i will in the future
I was wondering why you did that. The reason why I fixed the eyes is so that they would be similar to Twilight Peach's eyes; Twilight Peach's eyes looked completely normal, apart from the pupils being red, which I accepted.
Not only did I get hold of your Cursed Knight texture, but I also decided to get hold of Jet Falco, the Twilight Bros., and Twilight Link.
I did make some edits on the eyes for the Twilight textures though, but I left Jet Falco the way he is. Though I didn't exactly like his portrait, so I did my own portrait for him. Likewise, I did custom portraits for the others too.
You forgot my Twilight Bowser and Twilight Giga Bowser textures for your Twilight Texture Gallery. You can get them from either my texture pack or from the main Texture Gallery.
Twilight Bowser
Twilight Giga Bowser
Interestingly enough, I was planning on doing a few more Twilight textures, but I'm still thinking about who to do next.
